A STATEMENT FROM COLOGNE

That’s four home wins in a row for Cologne for the first time in the Bundesliga since 2010/11. It moves them five points clear of Mainz in 15th and will leave the Carnival city partying long into the night ahead of a big two weeks against local rivals Gladbach and champions Bayern.

SO EASY FOR EHIZIBUE!

Kingsley Ehizibue, once the fastest player ever clocked in the Bundesliga, picks up the ball on the right from Terodde and runs at the Freiburg defence, cutting inside before coolly rolling the ball into the far corner for his first Bundesliga goal.

DREXLER DOWN AGAIN

He was holding his ankle earlier in the game and now it looks like Dominick Drexler will have to make way. Cologne have a substitution left but he opts to come back on.
81'

CORDOBA MAKES WAY

A rousing ovation from the Cologne faithful as Jhon Cordoba is replaced by Simon Terodde. The Colombian is the first Billy Goats player since Klaus Allofs in 1984 to score in six straight home games.

RECORD ATTACK

Cologne's 22 attempts on goal so far today is the most they've had in a Bundesliga game this season.
74'

BORNAUW!

The Cologne centre-back gets up high as a corner is flicked on, but he can only head over the bar from six yards!
74'

DREXLER DEFLECTED...

A shot from some 20 yards takes a wicked deflection off former Cologne man Dominique Heintz and has Schwolow scrambling back across his goal to desperately claw it round his post.
69'

JAKOBS!

Ismail Jakobs tries to wrap this up by beating Schwolow from a narrow angle. His shot is saved but the ball comes back out to him, which he shifts onto his right looking for the far corner but blasts wide.
68'

STRECH ROLLS THE DICE

He takes off his top scorer for Roland Sallai as we approach the final 20 minutes in Cologne.
65'

CORDOBA...

A defence-splitting pass from Rafael Czichos gets Cordoba in behind. Schwolow makes himself bit to make the save, but the flag eventually goes up for offside.
59'

UTH!

This time it's a free-kick for the lively local boy. It looks like it's curling under the bar until Schwolow gets a solid hand to the ball to palm it over.
55'

SCORDOBA!

Jhon Cordoba has now scored in each of his last six home games! It all starts from a run by Uth as he creates space in midfield before laying it off to Hector. The captain's shot from the edge of the box is only parried by Schwolow and the Colombian tucks home his seventh goal of the campaign - all in those last six home games.

UTH!

Jakobs with a tantalising cross from the left looks destined for Mark Uth in the box, but Freiburg capatain Günter gets across at the last second to clear for a corner.

DREXLER DOWN

Dominick Drexler has gone down in the Freiburg box as Cologne win a corner. He looks to have taken a knock to his ankle and needs treatment.
46'

HALF-TIME CHANGES

Markus Gisdol and Christian Streich have opted for a change of personnel for the second half. For Cologne, Benno Schmitz replaces Noah Katterbach at left-back, while Luca Waldschmidt is on for Janik Haberer as Freiburg throw on some extra attacking impetus.

COLOGNE LEAD EXCITING CLASH

It's 1-0 to the hosts at the break thanks to Sebastiaan Bornauw's quick reactions from a corner, but it could've been so much more for both sides with a number of great chances. You'll expect to see more goals after the break.

CORDOBA!

Cologne pinch the ball back inside the Freiburg half and Cordoba is away. He only has Schwolow to beat and looks to curl it from 20 yards, but it doesn't quite have the bend on it and goes wide.
42'

KWON!

What a goal this would've been! A long, long ball straight over the Cologne defence is met perfectly by the run of Changhoon Kwon, ghosting between the two centre-backs to meet it with his left foot on the volley. Only excellent reactions from Horn prevent the equaliser.
38'

DANGEROUS FREE-KICK

Christian Günter curls in a teasing free-kick from the right touchline, forcing Timo Horn to come out and try to get a hand to it. In the end it comes off him and a defender at the expense of a corner.
35'

BORNAUW ON THE MARK

That was Sebastiaan Bornauw's fourth goal of the campaign, making him Cologne's second-best goalscorer. In terms of defenders, only Frankfurt's Martin Hinteregger has scored more this season.
30'

THE HOSTS LEAD!

They had cranked up the pressure in the last few minutes and now Cologne have their lead. It's come from a corner that Schwolow had originallz saved from close range, but he couldn't do anything as Dominick Drexler and Sebastiaan Bornauw had a swing at the rebound. It's been given to the latter for Cologne's 10th (out of 24) goal from a corner this season.
26'

CORDOBA!

Great chance for the hosts to break the deadlock after a great run down the right by Ehizibue. He picks out Cordoba in the box but the Colombian heads wide at the far post.
24'

GREAT ATMOSPHERE

Midway through the first half the home support ramp up the volume even more despite the fact it's been Freiburg with the best chance so far. In fairness, it's always loud inside the RheinEnergieStadion.
20'

COOLING DOWN?

Things have settled down somewhat on the pitch but Cologne top scorer Jhon Cordoba is the next player into the book for a late tackle in midfield on Gulde.
12'

ALL ACTION IN THE FREIBURG BOX

A mix-up at the back sees the ball bounce off a couple of Freiburg defenders before eventually popping up for Schwolow to collect. The goalkeeper then tries to punt the ball down the pitch but is blocked by Ismail Jakobs, who picks up his third caution of the season.
5'

OFF THE BAR!

Freiburg have a corner after Bornauw blocked a Petersen shot. Schmid curls it in from the left and Gulde gets up above everyone else to power a header against the Cologne crossbar and out of the box. It's the ninth time the Billy Goats have been saved by the woodwork this season. Only opponents Freiburg have benefited more times (11).

BORNAUW UP

Jonas Hector chips a free-kick into the Freiburg penalty area looking for the head of centre-back Sebastiaan Bornauw, but he's on the stretch and doesn't connect at all.

ALL SET IN COLOGNE

The players are out at the RheinEnergieStadion, and after a moment's reflection to mark the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we'll be underway.

DEBUT FOR LEISTNER?

Cologne have January signing Toni Leistner on their bench today after joining from Queens Park Rangers in England. He'll be hoping to make his top-flight debut as well after exactly 200 games in the second divisions of England (with QPR) and Germany (with Dresden and Union Berlin).

DOUBLE CENTURY FOR PETERSEN

Nils Petersen makes his 200th Bundesliga appearance today. He'll have fond memories of his last visit to Cologne, as well, after scoring a hat-trick in a sensational 4-3 comeback win in December 2017.

ONE CHANGE EACH

Markus Gisdol and Christian Streich make just one change to their respective teams despite losses last week. Dominick Drexler replaces youngster Jan Thielmann for the hosts, while Freiburg have Nicolas Höfler in for Amir Abrashi.
