UNDER WAY AGAIN

Paderborn get the ball rolling once more. If the end of the first half was anything to go by, there’ll be plenty more chance to come now! Paderborn have made one change at the break in a bid to have a bit more stability, with Uwe Hünemeier coming on Laurent Jans.

FOUR MINUTES MORE

We're into stoppage time now. Both teams are still going forward, but the result is beyond doubt.
89'

OVER FROM GERHARDT

He's only been on the pitch a few minutes, but Gerhardt could've scored there. Schlager floats an inviting cross into the box from the left, seeing Gerhardt's late run in, but the unmarked midfielder can't keep his header down.
85'

ARNOLD LOVES A LONG-RANGE GOAL

The Wolfsburg midfielder as now scored three direct free-kicks, this one his first since Janaury 2018. He's also scored 10 of his 26 Bundesliga goals from outside the box.
84'

MICHEL HEADS OVER!

Paderborn deserve plenty of credit for the way they have continued to play, despite only having 10 men. They create another chance to score as a diagonal cross from the left is pinged towards the back post, but Michel can't get over the ball and ends up heading over the bar.
83'

FREE-KICK FOR PADERBORN

Guilavogui gives away a free-kick just outside the Wolfsburg area, over towards the left. Pröger swings in a deep delivery to the back post, but Casteels is all over it and claims it under pressure.
76'

AN ARNOLD SPECIAL!

Wolfsburg win a free-kick around 10 yards outside the Paderborn box, slightly right of centre. It's the perfect position for a left-footer and Maxi Arnold duly steps up to take it. He curls a wonderful effort over the wall and past the despairing dive of Zingerle. That's surely game over now.
75'

SUBS ON BOTH SIDES

Both teams bring fresh legs into their attacks as Felix Klaus replaces Ginczek for Wolfsburg, and Sven Michel comes on for Srbeny.
72'

STUNNER FROM VASILIADIS!

Wow, what a brilliant strike from the Paderborn playmaker. Wolfsburg lose possession in midfield and it's quickly played forward to Vasiliadis, who strides into space and unleashes a swerving shot from 30 yards that leaves Casteels with no chance! We're in for an interesting final 15 minutes.
69'

NEAT INTERPLAY FROM WOLFSBURG

The away side have a couple of corners in succession that are half cleared. The ball comes to Arnold on the edge of the box and he draws a defender in before slipping a pass into Mehmedi's path. He stands up a cross into the middle, but Zingerle collects it.
64'

LONG WAIT OVER FOR GINCZEK

It's his first Bundesliga brace since scoring twice for VfB Stuttgart in a 4-1 win over Bayern in May 2018. He's only had two shots in this game, but has scored with them both.
62'

FRESH LEGS FOR PADERBORN

Streli Mamba replaces Zolinski up front in an effort to give fresh impetus to the home side's attacks.
60'

GINCZEK WITH THE SUCKER PUNCH

That is surely that now. Paderborn have been excellent this half, but this will be a blow to morale. Ginczek starts the move and plays in Roussillon down the left. His cross to the back post finds Steffen, who nods the ball back into the middle. Schlager can't quite get on the end of it but the ball falls to Ginczek, who has time and space to settle himself before coolly placing it into the net.

PROMISING FROM ANTWI-ADJEI

The Paderborn winger skips down the left and delivers a waspish cross into the middle. It's an awkward one for Casteels as the ball bounces right in front of him, but the VfL keeper gathers safely.
54'

HÜNEMEIER HEADER!

Casteels has been by far the busier goalkeeer this half as Hünemeier leaps highest at a corner and directs a header back across goal. It's a decent effort, but Casteels is alive to the danger and plucks the ball out of the air.
53'

ROUSSILLON SKEWS WIDE

A brilliant run from the Wolfsburg left-back, who dribbles past four (yes, 4!) defenders before getting into the box and fashioning an angle to shoot with his preferred left foot. This effort doesn't match the brilliance of his run though, and the ball goes wide of the target.
52'

VASILIADIS TESTS CASTEELS!

This is a brilliant move from Paderborn, who surge forward with one and two-touch passing. Wolfsburg look a yard off the pace here and the hosts have fire in their bellies. The ball comes to Vasiliadis on the edge of the Wolfsburg box and he smashes a right-footed shot at goal. It's well struck but straight at Casteels, who gathers the ball at the second attempt - just before Zolinski can get to the rebound.
48'

STRONG START FROM PADERBORN

The hosts really should be level as Srbeny causes the Wolfsburg defence problems as he goes for a header. The ball falls right at the feet of the unmarked Zolinski, who's on the edge of the six-yard box. He just needs to stroke it over the line... but swings his left boot and misses the ball completely!

ADVANTAGE WOLFSBURG

Paderborn began brightly and were on an even footing with their guests until Holtmann’s sending off. That knocked them off balance somewhat and Wolfsburg pounced through Ginczek. A goal and a man to the good, the Wolves are now very much in control of things.

WOLVES WANT MORE

The visiting team have sensed blood and are looking to press home their advantage and get another goal before the interval. That would likely be the killer blow, with Paderborn needing half-time to come as quickly as possible
41'

GINCZEK FIRES WOLFSBURG IN FRONT!

Schlager slides the ball into Ginczek's path as he sprints into the right-hand side of the penalty area. It's a tight angle but he still manages to get enough power on his shot to drill it past Zingerle at his near post. It's going to be an uphill struggle for Paderborn now.

WHAT NEXT FOR PADERBORN?

Head coach Steffen Baumgart is deep in discussion with his assistant on the touchline as they attempt to figure out how to respond to their numerical disdvantage. If Paderborn can hold on to the draw until the break, they can regroup during the interval.
34'

HOLTMANN SENT OFF!

Paderborn are down to 10 men as Holtmann is shown a straight red card after a tussle with Steffen, who is attempting to shield the ball out of play. The referee consults VAR and confirms his decision.

FIRSTS FOR WOLFSBURG

Knoche's effort - his first league goal this season - was also the first time in 2019/20 that the Wolves have scored from a free-kick in the Bundesliga.

BAD OMEN FOR PADERBORN

Zolinski's goal was his third in the Bundesliga this season... but Paderborn failed to win the other two games in which he's scored. Third time lucky, maybe?

GUILAVOGUI WARNING

The Wolfsburg captain gets a stern talking to from the referee after a hefty challenge. He's already on a yellow and seems to be told that's his last warning.
17'

ZINGERLE SAVES FROM MEHMEDI

Wolfsburg break forward again, this time with Steffen down the left. He crosses low to the back post, where Mehmedi is arriving again. The Swiss attacker does well to get his shot from a tight angle on goal, but Zingerle makes a good reflex save to keep it out.
16'

OVER FROM MEHMEDI

Arnold and Mehmedi take a short corner on the right and when the initial cross into the box is cleared, a long diagonal ball to the back post picks out Mehmedi, who takes it first time on the volley. It's a tricky one and he's stretching, but volleys over the target.
13'

GINCZEK DENIED!

The match has suddenly come to life as Mehmedi slides a beautiful pass through to Ginczek, who goes one-on-one with Zingerle. The Paderborn goalkeeper does brilliantly as the striker attempts to go around him, tapping the ball onto Ginczek's foot so that it rolls out for a goal kick.-
12'

CHANCE FOR PADERBORN!

It's the first clear opening of the game after a lovely, sweeping move from the hosts. Antwi-Adjei finds Srbeny on the right and his fierce shot is well saved by Casteels.

FOURTH BOOKING FOR GUILAVOGUI

He's now one away from a suspension after earning a yellow card for a foul in midfield.
9'

ALL ROADS LEAD TO GUILAVOGUI

The Wolfsburg captain has been on the ball more than anyone else on the pitch so far (10 touches), while he's also won more tackles (four) than anyone else.
5'

SCRAPPY OPENING

Headers, bouncing balls, tackles flying in... but not much by way of interplay as yet as the teams attempt to stamp their authority on proceedings and gain the upper hand. Both goalkeepers have just been spectators so far.
2'

WOLVES WITHOUT WEGHORST

For the first time since signing for Wolfsburg in summer 2018, Weghorst misses a Bundesliga game. He's the team's top scorer this season with seven goals, so replacing him will be a tough task. Daniel Ginczek has come into the side as a like-for-like replacement, although he is still feelinghis way back to full fitness after several months on the sidelines through injury.

UNDER WAY!

The final game of Matchday 20 is up and running!
Kick-off!

SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE

This game pits a Paderborn side with one of the leakiest defences in the Bundesliga (40 conceded) aginst a Wolfsburg side with the most goal-shy attacks (a league-low 20). We're about to find out who will prevail!

THE STAKES

Heading into this final fixture of Matchday 20, Paderborn know that a win would take them out of the relegation places and above Mainz, into 15th. Wolfsburg, meanwhile, could climb into the top ten if they snap their three-game losing streak.

SABIRI STARTS

With two goals in his last three, Abdelhamid Sabiri continues his run in the starting line-up. That means  Mamba, who has not scored in five matches, since finding the net in back-to-back games against Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig. is on the bench.

BAUMGART MEETS FORMER CLUB

Baumgart scored five goals in 32 appearances for Wolfsburg as a player, but he will be well advised not to let the emotion get the better of him - he is one booking away from becoming the first Bundesliga coach to be handed a one-game ban.

PONGRACIC DEBUT

Winter recruit Marin Pongracic makes his Wolfsburg debut in a bid to shore up a defence that hasn't kept a clean sheet in seven, while Antony Evans is on the bench for Paderborn and could make his debut for the East Westphalians.
