CHANCE NOW FOR GLADBACH

Nothing has worked for the Foals today but now they have a man advantage, Rose will want his side to race forward now for the final 10 minutes or so.

STRUGGLES FOR BOTH SIDES

GLADBACH JUST HOPEFUL

The away side are sending long balls forward, attempting to go more direct. It means they're not playing their usual way and so far it's not working for them. Frankfurt's three-man backline is handling it well with Rode and Sow dominating the midfield in front of them, too.
65'

BIG CHANCE!

Hinteregger's superb direct pass forward is well-controlled by Silva, who touches the ball across the penalty area to Younes in space. He rushes his shot as he goes to find the top corner with a curler and this one goes wide of the mark.

ATTACKING SWITCH

Plea is sacrificed here just after the hour and Embolo is on in his place. Marco Rose looking to get his side back into this one before it's too late.

CHANCE FOR SILVA!

OUTSTANDING DEFENDING

Plea is played in behind the Frankfurt defence and rounds Trapp before shooting at goal. It's on target but Durm has made a lung-bursting run back to clear the ball just in front of his own goal. In the end, the offside flag is raised, but Durm did so well to get back and make sure it was no goal.

GLADBACH SEARCHING

The Foals are looking to play the way we know them for under Marco Rose. Quick build-up play to start counter-attacks through Thuram and Plea up front. Frankfurt have defender superbly, though, and with a two-goal lead, can afford to sit back a touch and soak up some pressure if needed.
48'

ABRAHAM DOWN

The Frankfurt captain heads a cross clear and Plea clatters into him at the back post as he made his attempt to meet the ball. He's taking treatment now but should be able to continue.

A big, big chance which perhaps falls to the wrong man. Thuram controls the ball on the edge of the Frankfurt box and plays a beautiful backheel right into the path of Ginter. TALE OF THE TAPE

Tonight's game is a meeting of 8th and 9th in the table heading into the "Englische Woche" as it is known as in Germany. But despite being only one place above Frankfurt, Gladbach do have a four-point advantage over their hosts this evening. A win could take Gladbach above Dortmund into fifth before they and others play later on.

HASEBE BACK FOR EINTRACHT

Frankfurt's former club captain starts a game for the first time since Matchday 7 with Adi Hütter rotating his squad slightly. Hasebe - the oldest player in the Bundesliga at 36 - played every minute of the first seven games of the season.

FRANKFURT TEAM NEWS

Silva missed Friday's 2-1 defeat to Wolfsburg, but is back to start once again in Germany's financial capital. Dost drops to the bench despite marking his return to the starting line-up against former club Wolfsburg with his fourth goal of the season. Ilsanker was preferred to Barkok in midfield, but the latter did make it off the bench and starts in an attacking role. There was also a late cameo for Napoli loanee Younes starts with Kamada on the bench. A minor injury had put Durm's run in the side at right-wing-back in doubt, but he's safe to start with Da Costa waiting on the bench as the Eagles seek to end a run of seven matches without a win.

GLADBACH TEAM NEWS

Regular skipper Stindl, Plea and Thuram started the Hertha stalemate on the bench following their exertions during the Foals' successful UEFA Champions League group campaign, and all three are recalled in Frankfurt. Right-back Lainer is also back in, but an accumulation of yellow cards rules out midfielder Neuhaus. Sommer is back fit, too, leaving Sippel on the bench while winger Hofmann is out.
