BAYERN 2-1 WOLFSBURG

Lewandowski's brace is enough for Bayern. The defending champs stay second, a point behind leaders Leverkusen, who they face at the weekend.

KITCHEN SINK

Wolfsburg have three strikers on the pitch. Can they find a way back at the last?
85'

SUPER MANU!

Against any other goalkeeper Wolfsburg would be level, but Manuel Neuer is no ordinary net-minder. Weghorst and Bialek combine in and round the Bayern box. Bialek drives goalwards from 11 yards, but Neuer sticks out a hand to push it over. He's on hand to deny Bialek from the ensuing corner, too!
81'

WAYWARD

Roussillon has all the time in the world to pick out a man from the left. Philipp has even more time and space on the edge of the box, but spoons way off target. Had to hit the target!

PONGRACIC CROCKED

That's unfortunate for Pongracic, who has performed very well against his boyhood club. The Croatian has a knock and can't continue. On comes club captain Josuha Guilavogui for his first appearance since Matchday 5.

ALL CHANGE

Two substitutions from both sides as we head into the final 20 minutes. Looks like Musiala will drop into the No.8 position alongside Roca. Bialek and Joao Victor offer Wolfsburg an alternative in attack to Weghorst.
66'

COMAN!

So much speed from Bayern on the counter after a Wolfsburg attack breaks down. Gnabry hares forward, delaying his pass until the electric Coman has made up sufficient ground on the overlap. The Frenchman sizes up the Wolfsburg goal, but his eventual shot is blocked by Pongracic. Rapid!
54'

CHANCE FOR A THIRD

The red shirts are queuing up as Coman sends over a trademark cross from the left. It travels all the way to Gnabry at the far post, but he doesn't make a full connection and the chance is gone.
51'

LEWY AT THE DOUBLE!

Lewandowski puts Bayern ahead for the first time! Boateng picks off a Wolfsburg attack and threads a fine ball, dummied by Gnabry, into the area for Lewandowski. With Mbabu out of position, Lacroix goes across to cover, but is dumped on his back as Lewy sets himself and drives beyond Casteels at his near post for his 15th Bundesliga goal of the campaign.

HERE WE GO AGAIN

The ball's rolling again in the Bavarian capital, 15 minutes after Lewandowski's slice of history as only the third man to reach 250 Bundesliga goals, the Bayern ace joining Gerd Müller and Klaus Fischer in the annals.

LEWANGOALSKI!

Bundesliga goal number 250 for Lewandowski! Coman's the architect, cutting in from the left and curling a peach of a ball onto the head of Bayern's inimitable No.9. No chance for Casteels - what a time for Bayern to level!

UP AND OVER

Coman skins Mbabu and crosses into the area. Müller wins the header, knocking it back into the path of Sane. He has Gnabry unmarked on the edge of the box, but opts to shoot himself and drives past the upright.

SAFE HANDS

Sane whips in a corner towards Lewandowski, but the towering Casteels beats the Bayern striker to it. Commanding stuff from the Wolfsburg skipper.

PHILIPP ROCKET

Wolfsburg with a corner routine straight off the training ground. Brekalo clips an outswinger to the edge of the area, where goalscorer Philipp meets it plum on the volley. It's going in, before a deflection off Alaba's left thigh takes the ball wide.

KINGSLEY CON-MAN

Bayern building up a head of steam as Coman bamboozles the Wolfsburg defence on his way into the penalty area, before Pongracic gets in a timely foot. The Wolves can't afford to give the France international that much time to work his magic.

MAX POWER!

Max Philipp's strike was his first in the Bundesliga for over two years. He's on loan at Wolfsburg from Dinamo Moscow, remember.

DOUBLE CHANCE

Now it's Bayern's turn to attack as Müller feeds Lewandowski in the box. His first touch takes him away from goal, though, and he doesn't quite catch his shot as he'd have liked, with a combination of Lacroix and Casteels doing enough to keep him out. The record champions come again through Sane, who finds Gnabry on the penalty spot. He takes it on first time, but a green shirt gets in the way. High-value entertainment, this!

WEGHORST GOAL RULED OUT!

Bayern lose the ball in midfield, and Schlager immediately looks for the run of Weghorst. The Dutchman goes clear and thumps past Neuer, but was clearly offside when he received the pass. Another big warning for Bayern all the same.

ALMOST TWO!

Wolfsburg are doing a Union Berlin. They hit Bayern on the counter, with the ball eventually finding Brekalo towards the left of the 'D'. The Croatian whips goalwards and has Neuer beaten, but it dips just too late.

MÜLLER CHANCE

Thomas Müller flicks a near-post header wide after a great bit of play from the in-form Coman. Not an easy chance, but a decent effort.

PHILIPP!!!

Wolfsburg lead in Munich! Sane doesn't deal with Roussillon's left-wing cross, with Baku reacting fastest to slip the loose ball out to Mbabu. His whips it towards the penalty spot, where Maxi Philipp smashes past Neuer on the volley. A fine goal - and the sixth game in a row in which Bayern have conceded first.

ROUSSILLON TO THE RESCUE

Bayern drive forward with Gnabry, who powers into the box before laying the ball off for Sane. You'd fancy him to strike it early, but he takes an extra touch, allowing Roussillon to slide in with a goal-saving challenge. Warning signs for the visitors...

BOGEY GROUND

Wolfsburg have never won at the Allianz, but have picked up a couple of draws. If they avoid defeat, the Wolves will set a new club-record for unbeaten matches to start a season (12).

ACTION STATIONS

The teams take to the field at the Allianz Arena, with talk that it's Niklas Süle - not Boateng - at right-back for Bayern...

ATTACK VS. DEFENCE

Weghorst takes a lot of the plaudits, but it's the Wolfsburg back four that has provided the foundation for their unbeaten start. Glasner's well-drilled unit boast the second-meanest defence in the division, with 11 conceded, albeit with Brooks not missing a second of the action until now. How will they fare without him, against the league's meanest attack, who've scored a club record 35 goals after 11 matches...

THE HUNTERS

Bayern are second in the current standings, a point behind leaders RB Leipzig, who face Hoffenheim away. Wolfsburg kick-off in fifth place, but would move level on 24 points with Bayern with a win - something they've failed to do in their last league meetings against the record champions.

WEGHORST ON FIRE, YOUR DEFENCE IS TERRIFIED

Lewandowski may be out in front on 13 goals in his pursuit of a fifth Torjagerkanone in six seasons, but Weghorst is one of his closest pursuers on nine goals. Lewandowski aside, only Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland (10) has scored more than the Dutchman, who has found the net at least once in each of his last five appearances. The last VfL player to manage such a hot streak was Edin Dzeko in May 2009 - the same season the Wolves claimed their one and only Bundesliga title...

LEWANDOWSKI MILESTONE-BOUND

Lewandowski is the Bundesliga's 13-goal leading scorer so far this season, and Wolfsburg know better than most quite how deadly he can be, the Pole snatching more than one world record when he struck five times in just nine minutes against them under Pep Guardiola in September 2015. Lewandowski has 22 goals in 20 career games against the Wolves, and one more would bring up his 250th strike in the Bundesliga.

ALL-OUT ATTACK

Thomas Müller, Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane all start for Bayern - which is a first. Corentin Tolisso slots in between defence and attack in the absence of Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Javi Martinez, while Lucas Hernandez gets the nod over Alphonso Davies at left-back. Jerome Boateng takes up a position on the opposite side of the back four.

NO BROOKS

John Anthony Brooks' towering performances at centre-back are a big part of the reason why Wolfsburg are still unbeaten in this season's Bundesliga. The US international misses out due to injury, with ex-Bayern youth player Marin Pongracic head coach Oliver Glasner's only change from the 2-1 home win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
