ADDED TIME

We're now into four minutes of time added on here in Gladbach.

HUGE CHANCE!

Another chance goes begging as Rashica's shot is blocked and bounces across the Gladbach area to Bittencourt in space. He fires a left-footed shot at goal but it flies just over the crossbar. Two massive chances for Bremen, but neither find the back of the net.

OFF THE POST!

Bremen may not come closer than this to levelling the scores. Selke heads across to Osako, who does brilliantly to beat Elvedi in the air and flick the ball on to Rashica. He controls and cuts inside past one before shooting back across goal, but the ball bounces back out off Sommer, hits the goalkeeper, and he gathers the loose ball.
86'

REINFORCEMENT

Centre-back Jantschke comes on for winger Wolf to help make sure of things for Gladbach.
84'

BREMEN PRESSING

Kohfeldt calling on his team to press higher up the pitch but it's not working yet, with Gladbach finding ways through to push on themselves.
82'

DOUBLE CHANGE

Kohfeldt throwing the kitchen sink at this now in the final 10 minutes. Osako and Bittencourt on for defensive-minded midfielders Mbom and Möhwald.

BUNDESLIGA BEST

Elvedi's goal was Gladbach's 13 from set pieces, the best return in the Bundesliga this season.
74'

CHANGES GALORE

Zakaria and Bensebaini are on for Gladbach to provide some fresh legs for the final 15 minutes, while Bremen have changed their two-man attack with Rashica and Selke both on and Sargent and Schmid coming off.

HERE COME GLADBACH

The home side piling on the pressure now in the Bremen half, looking to make this a two-goal advantage in the near future. Elvedi heads over from close-range having gotten onto the end of Benes's corner ahead of Plea.
68'

WENDT BOOKED

A tactical foul on Gebre Selassie and Wendt takes the yellow card.
66'

ELVEDI HEADS HOME!

Gladbach go in front midway through the second half and it's Elvedi who does the trick. Benes curls in a free-kick from the left and Elvedi is alone to glance a header across goal and in off the far post, beyond the diving Pavlenka. His first of the season at the perfect time.

DOUBLE CHANGE

Stindl and Benes come on for Herrmann and Neuhaus, with Rose looking to win this game while also rotating his squad with a big game against Dortmund to come on Friday night.
58'

SARGENT CLOSE

A tidy turn and shot from Sargent 25 yards from goal, which is blocked behind for a corner by the Gladbach defence. Meanwhile, Stindl and Benes are getting ready on the sidelines for the hosts.
56'

EARLY CHANGE

Toprak is having to come off here. The centre-back suffered a knock in the first half and is unable to continue, with Moisander on in his place.
54'

LITTLE TO SEPARATE THEM

The possession stats are beginning to even out, chances have come at both ends and both sides having recorded nearly identical stats for distance covered, tackles won and more. This looks like it will be a game decided by finer margins in this second half.
50'

HARD-HITTING HALF

Lainer and Sargent have made some heavy challenges already at the start of this second half. Neither side holding anything back.
48'

SARGENT BOOKED

The American is shown the second yellow of the evening for Bremen with a challenge on Ginter.
46'

BACK UNDERWAY!

The second half gets rolling without a change to either side at Borussia-Park.

END-TO-END NOW

This is turning into a real end-to-end game now in the final minutes of the first half.
37'

BIG CHANCES!

Bremen cause confusion in the Gladbach backline again with a long ball forward bringing Sommer out of his box. He chests the ball ahead of Mbom, but it's a heavy touch which Sargent latches onto. The American is then brought down by Sommer - who is shown a yellow card - and Agu runs onto the loose ball and fires a shot at goal. Ginter, though, is on his goal-line and clears the ball away.
33'

NOT FAR AWAY ONCE MORE

A deep cross from the left and Agu just misses Sargent in the Gladbach area, but Gebre Selassie is in behind him and does get his head to the ball. He can only send it wide of goal, though, but Bremen will be pleased with the chances they have been able to create.
30'

BRILLIANT FROM FRIEDL

Wolf is on the end of a through-ball into the Bremen box and is about to pull the trigger on his shot as Friedl steps across, clipping the ball away from him in the final seconds before his shot. Fantastic last-ditch defending from the Austrian.

HUGE CHANCE!

Wow, what a goal that would have been. Another break down the right from Bremen and Gebre Selassie's cross is cleared up into the air on the edge of the Gladbach box. Schmid meets it with a ferocious volley which is heading straight for the top corner, but Sommer produces a stunning reflex save to keep it out. Fantastic football all-round.

PAVLENKA BOOKED

The Bremen goalkeeper is way out of his goal and brings down Hofmann, who had been charging to get on the end of a long ball.
21'

CHANCE ON THE BREAK!

Bremen break through the Gladbach defence with Sargent on the counter. He sends Ginter to the ground in an attempted slide tackle and turns back in the box, looking for the run of Eggestein. But Elvedi is back and in the way to clear from his own six-yard box.

PLEA PROWLING

WOLF IN ON GOAL!

A big chance for the winger as he exchanges a lovely one-two with Plea before being played in behind. His touch lets him down, though, as Friedl recovers to get a block on his shot and send the ball behind.
15'

STILL PROBING

Neuhaus pokes the ball through to Plea 20 yards from goal and he takes a snap-shot at goal, but this one is blocked away by the well-shaped Bremen defence. It's been one-way traffic in the opening 15 minutes but Gladbach unable to make the most of their pressure so far.
12'

INCENTIVE FOR THE FOALS

A win tonight for Gladbach will take them level on points with Dortmund and Leverkusen (29) before the two teams occupying third and fourth place respectively face-off later this evening.
9'

BREMEN STRUGGLES

The away side have been defending exclusively in the opening 10 minutes. Rare moments of rest-bite have come when the Bremen defence has gained possession, but those periods have not lasted long at all thus far. Backs against the wall already here.
6'

ON TARGET

Elvedi with a free header in front of goal after getting on the end of Hofmann's free-kick into the Bremen box. He didn't get the desired connection, though, and the ball was an easy one for Pavlenka to grab.
3'

FAST START

Gladbach pressing high and hard in the opening minutes, keeping the ball in the Bremen half and dictating the early play.

HERE WE GO!

The hosts get things underway in Mönchengladbach for the first game of our midweek Bundesliga action across Tuesday and Wednesday.
Kick-off!

WATCH OUT FOR LARS

Stindl is Gladbach's nine-goal top scorer so far this Bundesliga season. He has scored eight times in 18 competitive outings against Bremen, making the Green-Whites his joint-favourite opposition alongside Augsburg. He's waiting on the bench when needed tonight.

HOPE FOR WERDER?

Werder have only won one of their last 15 Bundesliga matches in Mönchengladbach - a 4-1 victory in October 2010. They did, however, post the highest away win of their Bundesliga history against the Foals - a 7-0 rout back in April 1966.

BORUSSIA OVER BREMEN

Gladbach are unbeaten in their last nine Bundesliga meetings with Werder (W6, D3). The Foals have recorded more home wins over Bremen than they have against any other Bundesliga club (30 in 51 games).

LAST SEASON: GLADBACH 3-1 BREMEN - HIGHLIGHTS

In their previous meeting at Borussia-Park, Gladbach came out two-goal winners over Bremen way back in November 2019.

GLADBACH TEAM NEWS

Stindl is on the verge of double figures for the season after netting in Stuttgart, but he is given a rest this evening by starting on the bench with Plea back in the starting line-up after getting through 30 minutes at the weekend. Fellow attacker Thuram remains suspended, however.

BREMEN TEAM NEWS

US striker Sargent has 20-year-old Schmid for company attack, looking to add to three goals he's got in all competitions, while Kosovan attacker Rashica will be keen to add to the couple of minutes he got against Augsburg following his return from a lengthy injury lay-off. Kohfeldt has confirmed, however, that left-back Augustinsson and striker Füllkrug are still sidelined through injury. Bittencourt has been promised minutes, which will come from the bench.
