SCHICK FIRES OVER!

Another chance goes begging for Leverkusen as Schick controls a ball into the area and quickly turns to shoot from eight yards, but he can't keep it down.
84'

BELLARABI ON

Frimpong has had to go off here after a challenge from Günter which has given him a back injury and Bellarabi is on.
83'

SANTAMARIA FIRES WIDE

The Frenchman breaks forward well from midfield and decides to pop a shot at goal from 25 yards. It bounces just wide across the Leverkusen goal with the home side struggling to force a way forward.
82'

FRESH LEGS

Jeong is on for Demirovic to keep the pressure on in attack.
79'

WENDELL HAS A GO!

Schick looks to turn past Santamaria but Höfler is able to clear, with the ball coming to Wendell on the edge and his shot is high over the crossbar.

An immediate yellow for Sallai for his challenge on Aranguiz.

TRIPLE CHANGE!

Three fresh faces for Freiburg and they are defensive moves. Haberer and Sallai will help pack the midfield while Schlotterbeck is on at the back for Kübler.
75'

INTO THE FINAL FIFTEEN...

Freiburg are making things difficult here for Leverkusen by pressing on for another goal themselves. But you can expect that most of the play will be in the Freiburg half with the hosts pushing on for an equaliser towards the end here.
73'

HÖFLER BOOKED

The Freiburg midfielder brings down Frimpong and takes a yellow.
71'

BAILEY SUSPENDED

That yellow card for Bailey - given for dissent - means he will miss the game against Gladbach next weekend.

BAILEY GETS BAYER BACK IN IT!

The Jamaican has swapped flanks to the left and is found by Alario. He stands up Kübler on the edge and drives past the defender as he slips before smashing the ball across goal and beyond Müller.

TWICE AGAINST THE RUN OF PLAY

Leverkusen have had almost 70% possession and 11 shots on goal, but Freiburg have made the most of their chances with three of their shots on target finding the back of the net.
61'

HÖLER MAKES IT TWO!

Höler - who created the first - gets on the scoresheet himself and Leverkusen are shell-shocked. A ball from Demirovic across the area from the right is missed by everyone and comes to Grifo at the back post. He simply passes it back into the middle where Höler is waiting alone in front of goal to slide home. His third of the season and almost certainly his easiest.

ALL LEVERKUSEN

The home side have taken control of the game again in terms of possession, but the pressure is being relieved by some mistakes from Leverkusen's attack. Freiburg's defence is staying composed, too.

PRECISION FINISH

Demirovic didn't have much room to work with, but found the bottom corner beyond Grill for the lead.
53'

LOOKING FOR A RESPONSE

The home side are staying composed despite going behind with tidy passing up and across the pitch. Freiburg are sitting in well though, with tidy defensive shape. Alario runs into the Freiburg area but is denied by a last-ditch Kübler challenge to prevent him scoring.
50'

FREIBURG IN FRONT!

The away side punish the hosts for their missed chances in the first half by taking the lead five minutes into the second. It's all Höler, who runs 25-30 yards, inside Aranguiz and Wendell before cutting the ball across the area to Demirovic who slots it home past Grill. A brush of the shoulders to celebrate his fourth of the season, and Freiburg lead!

ADDED TIME

Just the one minute of time added on at the end of this first half.
45'

GOOD CHANCE!

A corner swings to the back post and Demirovic is all alone to head the ball at goal. He doesn't get enough power behind it though, and Grill is down low to his left to make a comfortable save in the end.
44'

LATE CHANGE

Fosu-Mensah can't continue after his slip, with Dragovic replacing him just before half-time.

FOSU-MENSAH DOWN

The right-back went down under no challenge after a slip in possession and is testing out his right knee. It looks as if he will have to come off.

GRAY ONCE AGAIN!

The Englishman is having a lot of fun on his first Bundesliga start. He passes through two Freiburg defenders to Aranguiz in the area, who lays it back to Gray who had followed his pass to then shoot low at the near post. He doesn't quite catch it right and Müller is on hand to save again.
32'

FREIBURG MAKING IT DIFFICULT

Leverkusen are showing more attacking impetus but Freiburg's defensive set-up has been sound so far. They're pressing high in midfield, not allowing the home side time on the ball. But when you have Bailey and Gray in attack, danger is always around.

LEVERKUSEN GETTING CLOSER

Gray causing havoc again as he quickly crosses from inside the Freiburg area. It bounces through two Freiburg defenders and Bailey isn't expecting that at the back post, and the ball runs away from him in front of goal.
23'

GRAY THIS TIME!

Tidy control and then a nice move with speed to cut inside past Kübler gets Gray running at goal. Lienhart forces him a touch wide but he still gets the shot away which Müller is forced to parry behind.
21'

DEMIROVIC BOOKED

An early yellow card for the Freiburg forward as he fouls Aranguiz late.
19'

BAILEY BLOCKED

The Jamaican cuts inside from the right wing once again and has space to shoot but doesn't have the ball in the right spot to pull the trigger when he has the chance. In the end, he has to wait, and Heintz recovers to make the block.

LEVERKUSEN'S BALL EARLY

As expected, Leverkusen enjoying most of the early possession. Freiburg have only had more of the ball in six games this season and lost all of those.

ALARIO DENIED!

From the corner that followed Bailey's strike, Alario meets the cross in with his run to the near post and glances a header at goal. Müller responds again with an outstanding reflex save. Fantastic start here from Müller.

BAILEY HAS A GO!

Neat movement from Bailey as he cuts inside past Grifo onto his left foot to curl at goal from the right edge of Freiburg box. It's a powerful hit and Müller denies him.

NOT BAD EITHER

Freiburg - who are in their all-yellow strip this afternoon - have made a fine start as well. They are containing the Leverkusen attack and playing fast build-up play when going forward.

CONFIDENT START

Leverkusen enjoying most of the early possession here, looking to get Gray, Alario and Bailey involved early in attack. Freiburg have matched the task of facing Leverkusen's pace in attack with a four-man defence.

HERE WE GO!

The final game of the weekend is underway in Leverkusen with both sides needing three points to keep their goals within reach this season.
Kick-off!

NOT SO FUN FACT FOR FREIBURG

Die Breisgauer are winless in the six league matches this season in which they have had the greater share of possession (D3, L3).

WATCH OUT FOR THE SUPER-SUB!

Petersen has scored three Bundesliga goals in nine starts, and four across 13 substitute appearances in 2020/21. He has three goals to show for his previous eight meetings with Leverkusen.

WATCH: GRILL GETTING WARM

22-year-old Lennart Grill comes out for his first warm-up as a starting Bundesliga goalkeeper. The Germany U21 international is in with Lukas Hradecky injured.

BAYER THE BOGEY SIDE?

Leverkusen are unbeaten in seven against Freiburg (W4, D3), while Peter Bosz has never lost against the south-west club as a coach (W3, D2). It also doesn't help Freiburg that they have won only one of their last four, failing to score in three of them.

TIME FOR BAILEY AND GRAY

Bailey has contributed a team-high 11 Bundesliga goals this season (five goals, six assists), but has only scored once in his last 11 outings. Gray has had a direct hand in three goals in as many Bundesliga substitute appearances.
