Bayern Munich's James Rodriguez joins eSport team Ares

A master with his feet, a master with his fingers - Bayern Munich playmaker James Rodriguez has joined eSport team Ares.

The Real Madrid loanee - a self-styled EA Sports FIFA series enthusiast - joins the likes of Yannick Carrasco (Atletico Madrid), Moussa Sissoko (Tottenham Hotspur) and Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City) as an ambassador of the Ares project, which offers gamers from all walks of life the opportunity to showcase their skills on the global stage.

To mark James' involvement, FIFA 18 aficionados can now register for the James Rodriguez Welcome Tournament.

After a round of online qualifiers on 14 October, finalists will be invited to Paris, France, to battle it out in the flesh for the right to win a whole host of cash and exclusive prizes.
