Is that game over? Kristof and Pinckert can't agree on their clearance attempts, leaving Brackelmann as the beneficiary to slots in for 3-1!

Nothing so far
The hosts need to push now and want to as well, but they lack ideas going forward.

Will there be a turnaround?
Elversberg have never lost after scoring first this season, while Paderborn have already won three times after falling behind (no team has done so more often).

Paderborn lead
It was certainly coming. Obermair crosses from the right to the near post, where Bilbija, with his back to goal, lays it off perfectly for Kostons, who smashes it first time into the bottom left corner to give the league leaders the advantage!

Good cross

Deserved
Paderborn had more shots on goal (9-5), more possession (57%), earned five corners to zero, and covered slightly more ground. It's hard to argue their late equaliser wasn't deserved.

Equaliser!
Ansah with a header and Zehnter with a long-range shot fail to find a way through, but Curda finally does the job as he meets a corner from the left and heads it past Kristof, who had no chance.
45'
Two more minutes
The first half is drawing to a close without any major highlights. However, Paderborn have already scored points after falling behind five times this season (three wins, two draws) - only Karlsruhe have done so more often (six times).
42'
Too far
Neubauer gets involved again on the left flank and wants to cross into the middle, but his attempt is overhit and lands out for a throw-in.
39'
First booking

The hosts look more confident. That somewhat unexpected goal has clearly done them some good!

No danger

Elversberg score first for sixth time
Five wins, zero draws and zero losses is Elversberg's record this season after taking a 1-0 lead.
27'
Elversberg lead!
A bit fortunate but the hosts will take it! Petkov's initial effort from a tight angle on the right is parried out by Schubert to the left, where it's laid off to Damar in a central position. His first effort on his left ends up being an air shot, but he gets it right with the second on his other foot as the ball deflects in past a stranded Schubert.

Platte back after two months

Florian Le Joncour, who had been a regular in central defence since February 2024, is back in the squad for the first time since late August, although initially on the bench.
Opportunity for Baur
Division leaders Paderborn make four changes to their side - the most they've made in a single match this season, bar one occasion. Among them are 20-year-old Mika Baur, who starts for the first time in Bundesliga 2 after four previous appearances as a substitute (he had already started in the DFB Cup).
Reward for Petkov
Lukas Petkov, as a substitute in the last match in Düsseldorf, was involved in both goals, including scoring the final one to make 2-0. He gets to start today in place of Manuel Feil in the only change for Elversberg.

Steffen on facing Paderborn
"How they play is always a bit adapted to the opponent, but from a basic structure that is very reliable. Paderborn have a good structure, good processes and a self-understanding. When a team loses only once in 13 matches and is top of the table, it shows that many things are going well."
Kwasniok on facing Elversberg
"There are many similarities between both clubs. At both clubs good work is being done very calmly. Elversberg impress with great continuity in key positions, clear processes and a distinct playing philosophy. We are also in good form and absolutely stable."
Reunion with Rohr
Maximilian Rohr moved from Paderborn to Elversberg in the summer of 2024 having made 28 appearances for SCP in Bundesliga 2 (scoring three goals).
Schnellbacher's brace
Luca Schnellbacher scored his first brace in Bundesliga 2 during SVE's 4-1 home victory against Paderborn on 25 November 2023.
Three home wins in a row
Elversberg have won their last three home matches against Paderborn (including a 4-1 victory last season).
Previous encounters
Elversberg and Paderborn faced each other in Bundesliga 2 last season and previously in six matches in the Regionalliga West-Südwest from 1996 to 2000.
