Full-time: Ulm 5-1 Regensburg
Ulm dominated the match from the start and hardly gave Regensburg room to breathe. Telalović opened the floodgates in the first half with a hat-trick, before scoring his fourth goal with a header after Batista Meier's penalty. Regensburg remained lacklustre in attack, but managed a consolation goal through Ganaus in the 92nd minute - from their first shot on target.

Consolation goal for Regensburg
A weak back pass lands at Ganaus' feet, who rounds Ortag and calmly slots it in with his right foot. The sliding Reichert can't prevent it either.

Telalović scores his fourth!
He simply can't be stopped today! Following a corner from the right, he heads the ball into the back of the net. Gebhardt gets a touch on it again, and Regensburg player clears the ball, but just behind the line - after a brief review, the goal stands.

Curious incident
Handwerker takes a swing and a miss, which Rösch consequently receives right in the pit of his stomach. After briefly staying down, he is able to continue playing.
66'
Dressel also fitting in well
While Regensburg's four winter signings remain inconspicuous, the Sparrows' two new acquisitions have contributed to the team's success: Batista Meier has already been mentioned sufficiently, and Dressel is also having a good game: He assisted the third goal and has been involved in four shots on goal. He's also is the Ulm player who has covered the most distance today.
64'
A shot at last!
Ulm heads the ball out of the danger zone after a free kick from the visitors - but straight to the opponent. The visitors put the ball back into play, and Ballas heads it centrally in front of keeper Ortag but wide of the goal.
61'
Comfortable under pressure
Batista Meier has been under pressure from opponents ten times today, but managed to break free in 70 percent of cases - including for the 2-0, when he set up Telalović. He also remained ice-cold from the penalty spot to make it 4-0.

Penalty for Ulm!
Krattenmacher drives into the penalty area from the left, and Ananou blocks his path, resulting in Weisbach pointing to the spot!

Is Telalović really like Kleindienst?
Regensburg fans, look away now: Kleindienst was also the last Bundesliga 2 player to score four goals in a single match, in that February 2023 game against Nuremberg...
51'
No takers
Now the hat-trick scorer does better and opts to pass the ball, although Telalović didn't really have any other choice. From the left touchline, he plays the ball low into the box, but only players in red are there, who can clear it out wide.
49'
Telalović unstoppable!
His shot is deflected for a corner. This time it might have been better to pass to Keller, who was free and signalling on the left. Nothing comes from the resulting set-piece.

Telalović completes his hat-trick!
This time a right-footed effort! New signing Dressel powers through several Regensburg players on the left and passes the ball forward to Telalović. This time, the Ulm player is positioned on the left side of the penalty area, but he can still curl the ball into the far corner from there, giving Gebhardt no chance.

Two goals before half-time
Ulm had only managed to do this this once before this season - on matchday 7 against Braunschweig, when the Sparrows secured their last victory to date.

Repossession taking similar lengths of time
Both teams take about the same time to regain possession after losing the ball: The Sparrows need ten seconds, Regensburg twelve. Nevertheless, Ulm have been clearly more lively side so far.

A second for Ulm!
Keller takes his time with a throw-in from the left side, then places it onto Strompf's head, who passes it on to Batista Meier. The left winger spots Telalović in a better position on the right, who, as with the opening goal, sets the ball onto his left foot, but this time buries it in the left corner.

Ulm take the lead!
What a flash of inspiration from Brandt! From the halfway line and on the turn, he plays a half-volley towards Telalović, who shakes off Bulic, sets himself up on his left foot and then buries it in the top-right corner. The goal had been coming!

Gebhardt on hand again
Keller takes a cross first-time, but his right-footed shot lacks power, and this time Gebhardt makes a comfortable save.

Telalović blazes it over
An Ulm player blocks Ziegele's chip, and the ball flies like a boomerang over the Regnesburg defence and towards Telalović, who is wide awake, gets on the the ball and sets off towards Gebhardt. In front of the goal, he is decisively disturbed by Breunig at the last moment, causing the Ulm player to miss. Telalović receives brief treatment but is able to continue.

21st 'Remembrance Day in German Football'
80 years ago, on 27 January 1945, the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp was liberated. , German football has been commemorating this event for more than 20 years on game days taking place on and around 27 January, as we remember the people persecuted, deported and murdered by the Nazis.
Suhonen's mini milestone
The Regensburg player is making his 50th appearance in the Bundesliga 2 today.
Ulm debut for Dressel
Dennis Dressel is called upon directly today, after only being signed from Grazer AK on Wednesday. However, he is already familiar with the Bundesliga 2 - the midfielder played a total of 68 matches in the division for Rostock from 2022 to 2024.
All new signings play for Jahn
Last week, Adamyan and Suhonen were already in the starting eleven, today Handwerker and Ananou are also in from the beginning. This means all four of Regensburg's winter signings are starting.
Wörle makes four changes
For the Sparrows, there are even four changes to the starting lineup after the 2-1 defeat in Kaiserslautern. Tom Gaal plays for Niklas Kolbe, who is on the bench for the first time since the first leg in Regensburg. Also new to the team are Max Brandt and winter signings Oliver Batista Meier and Dennis Dressel. Stoll, Ludwig and Hyryläinen are only substitutes today as a result.
Three Jahn rotations
Jahn coach Andreas Patz makes three changes following the 1-0 home defeat against Hannover: Tim Handwerker replaces Bryan Hein, Frederic Ananou comes into the team for Christian Viet, and Kai Pröger gets the nod ahead of Eric Hottmann today.
Jahn starting XI
Gebhardt - Ziegele, Bulic, Breunig - Ananou, Geipl, Handwerker - Kühlwetter, Suhonen - Pröger, Adamyan
Ulm starting XI
Ortag - Reichert, Strompf, Gaal - Rösch, Brandt, Dressel, Keller - Krattenmacher, Batista Meier - Telalović
Andreas Patz on facing Ulm
"Ulm is a team that is very stable and plays physically. From what I've seen, they show two faces. On the one hand, they are very robust and physically stable with many tall players, but on the other hand, they also have play-making elements in their game and want to solve many situations through skilful play. Especially in the last match against Kaiserslautern, they deserved at least a point given the chances they created. That's why we have to put everything on the line again and be well-organised in defence - to be able to stand up to them. Offensively, however, we also need to use our moments with the ball, create opportunities for ourselves and then be more clinical with our finishing. Only in this way can we achieve successful results, and ideally, we'll return home with three points."
Thomas Wörle on facing Jahn Regensburg
"Of course, it's not a final. But it's obviously a very important match for us because we have the chance to put six points between us and a fierce competitor at home. It will certainly be a hard-fought match and not a footballing delicacy; it's all about the result."
Automatic contract extension for Philipp Strompf
The centre-back's contract would have expired at the end of the season, but due to a clause, it has automatically been extended by one year until 30.06.2026.
Contract termination for Niclas Anspach
SSV Jahn Regensburg and Niclas Anspach have mutually agreed to an early termination of the player's contract. The 24-year-old joined Jahn in the summer of 2023 and has primarily featured for the U21 team this season.
Old acquaintances from the third division
Last season in the third division, the home team kept clean sheet to win each time (Ulm winning 1-0 at home and likewise Regensburg 2-0 at their home ground). Felix Higl scored the goal that secured the home victory for Ulm on 21 April 2024.
Lucas Röser in focus
No player in the current Ulm squad has ever scored in the Bundesliga 2 against Regensburg. However, only Lucas Röser has played more than one second-tier match against Jahn (two wins and one draw with Dresden).
The return fixture
Ulm and Regensburg are playing together in the Bundesliga 2 for the first time. Earlier on in the season, a goal from Dominik Kother, who has since left the club, was enough for Jahn to secure a 1-0 victory.
