Full time: Fürth 2-1 Regensburg

In an intense match, Greuter Fürth emerge as the victors. After half-time, neither team created any significant goal-scoring opportunities, and so the scoreline at 45 minutes remains the same at 90. Thanks to a strong 15-minute spell from the Clover Leaves just before the break, the three points stay with the home team.

Noll to the rescue!

That was it, the opportunity! Ganaus dribbles through and takes aim, but Noll makes a brilliant block with an outstretched arm.

Futkeu misses

John delivers a cross from the left flank into the centre, where Futkeu is a fraction away from turning it goalwards.
84'

Crunch time!

The score remains the same as at half-time. Will there be another twist in the tale?
82'

Handwerker!

Not a bad free-kick from long range. It sails just over the crossbar!
80'

Loud protest

Siewert is not satisfied with a throw-in decision. He says too much to the referee and is booked.

Closely contested

Both teams are giving little away in the second half, which has been littered with fouls.

Goals used up?

Fürth are managing the game and Regensburg are no longer really threatening. What else can we expect from both teams in the final quarter of an hour?

xGoals
The xGoals value of a club is calculated from the sum of all goal probabilities (goals and shots on goal) of that team. During a match, it’s easy to see whether the club is performing better than expected (goals > xGoals) - or maybe even higher (xGoals > goals).
Looking at xGoals, the 2-1 scoreline is a fair reflection of the game.

Gebhardt again!

Münz executes an artistic backheel at the near post from a corner, but the Jahn goalkeeper is wide awake and smothers the ball.

Half-time at Ronhof!

A wild first half comes to an end. Fürth initially failed to capitalise on their chances, falling behind to clinical Regensburg. However, they then converted two shots on target into two goals, turning the game around. The second half promises to be exciting, especially as both teams are playing their part.

Unleashed

From what seemed like an impossible position, Srbeny just lets fly and scores!

Brief interruption

The match is briefly interrupted due to an injury to Geipl. There are only a few minutes left until half-time. Can Regensburg strike back?

Home comforts

It's already the third goal of the season for Dennis Srbeny, and his fourth strike overall for the Clover Leaves: He's scored all of them at Ronhof.

Srbeny turns the game around!

A throw-in leads to Fürth taking the lead. Consbruch lays off a cross from Münz perfectly into the space behind for Srbeny, who simply has a go and finds the net with a bit of luck. The ball was deflected off Bulic, making it unatoppable for Gebhardt.

Fürth equalise!

The hosts also score with their first shot on target. Hgrota dribbles past Hein at the corner flag and crosses it in. Breunig's clearance lands right at Consbruch's feet, who only needs to tap it in.

Geipl makes it dangerous!

A set piece brings the next chance for Regensburg. Geipl crosses the free-kick to Ziegele, who heads a looping ball, Noll just manages to tip it over the crossbar. However, the flag goes up, the defender was offside when he made his run.
25'

Quiet minutes

The action has slowed down over the past few minutes. Fürth took their sixth corner, Regensburg have not had another scoring opportunity since the goal.

Joyful scens

Adamyan celebrates his first goal in a Regensburg jersey.
19'

Goalline clearance

As usual, a Fürth corner looks dangerous. Quarshie is the one who eventually gets a shot away on the turn after some scrambling. His effort is also deflected and slowed down, with Breunig clearing it just inches from the goal line.
18'

Sleepy

That's the eighth goal conceded by Fürth in the opening quarter of an hour - no team has been beaten more often in the first 15 minutes of play.
16'

Out of bounds

Noll sends Hrgota across the entire pitch, the captain just manages to play it across before Srbeny heads it narrowly over the crossbar. However, the flag goes up, the ball had already gone out of play during the clearance attempt.
14'

Pressing

After conceding, Fürth are circulating the ball and trying to tire out Regensburg. So far, they are defending well against balls played in behind.

Hrgota delivers a free-kick from quite a distance out and puts the ball into the side netting on the left! Almost an immediate response.

The first attack hits the mark!

Ernst sends Hein on a run down the left wing. Textbook-like, he lays the ball into the middle, where new signing Adamyan slots it home with his first touch. An early 1-0 lead for the visitors!

Two changes

Jan Siewert would have certainly liked to bring the winners from Paderborn, but he has to do without Felix Klaus and Julian Green. Jomaine Consbruch and Jannik Mause move into the starting XI in their place.

Never change a winning team

Regensburg coach Andreas Patz fields the same starting XI as last week in the 2-0 victory against Hertha.

Regensburg starting line-up

Gebhardt - Ziegele, Bulic, Breunig - Pröger, Geipl, Kühlwetter, Hein - Ernst - Hottmann, Adamyan

Fürth starting line-up

Noll - Loosli, Quarshie, Itter - Meyerhöfer, Münz, Consbruch, John - Hrgota, Srbeny - Mause

Jan Siewert on facing Regensburg

"We now have an opponent in front of us who also picked up points at the weekend against Hertha. Therefore, we know what's coming our way. We want to follow up, we're at home and we want to build on that now."
camera-photo

Andreas Patz on facing Fürth

"It always feels good to go into a training week with a weekend victory, no question. It creates a good atmosphere. But even more so, it builds confidence and a positive feeling. The lads can still put it into perspective, though. We're preparing meticulously because we know that the away match against Fürth will be no easier. They will demand everything from us again. After the Ulm match, we know what to expect if we're not ready. It's a similar calibre with high intensity and strong tackling. Therefore, we're cautious of their quality."

Some success for Regensburg

The last encounter between both teams, however, was at the end of October 2024 in the DFB Cup, where Regensburg prevailed 1-0 at home. Match-winner Rasim Bulic saw a red card shortly after his goal.

The stats favour Fürth

The Cloverleaves have secured seven wins and two draws in their last nine second-tier encounters against Jahn. Regensburg's last league victory against Fürth was a 2-1 away win in April 2018.

Jahn seeking revenge

Fürth claimed their biggest victory of the season in the reverse fixture, with a 4-0 win in Regensburg.
