UDUOKHAI!

No! Great ball from Jensen, but Hernandez - who has been superb tonight - does just enough to put off the Augsburg defender.

BATTERING RAM

Javi Martinez is on for Müller. That shows you how close Augsburg are running Bayern. Flick cannot wait for the full-time whistle to sound. Didn't expect to be typing that 45 minutes ago...
89'

BIG CHANCE

Gah, that's disappointing. Jensen chips a ball over the Bayern defence for Niederlechner. It's on his weaker left foot, and he doesn't test Neuer.
87'

MUSIALA PACE

Fantastic feet from Musiala in the Augsburg area. He carves out space and cuts back for Müller, who turns home, but the ball had clearly gone out of play in the build-up.
83'

OH, BABY

If you're wondering where Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is tonight, he's been left out to attend the birth of his child. He'd have surely been Flick's go-to replacement for Lewandowski, who is Bayern's only recognised striker in the matchday squad.
80'

MUSIALA ON

Jamal Musiala, 17, replaces Coman, who hasn't been able to influence the game at all in the second half.
76'

MISSED PENALTY!

What a chance for Augsburg. Pavard handles from Iago in the box - Finnbogasson steps up, but sends his effort against the foot of Neuer's right-hand post. What a let-off for Bayern, who have been massively off the pace since the restart.
73'

TRIPLE CHANGE

Positive stuff from Augsburg, with Messrs Finnbogason, Niederlechner and Jensen joining the action. Richter, Vargas and Hahn make way - Herrlich clearly feels his side can get a goal here.
68'

LEWANDOWSKI OFF

Here's a surprise: Lewandowski is given the hook by Hansi Flick, with Corentin Tolisso coming on. He's played a lot of games - but it's unclear if he's carrying a knock. Leroy Sane is also on for Gnabry.
60'

BETTER FROM BAYERN

Bayern enjoy their first meaningful spell of possession of the first half. The ball is shifted from one side to the other, with Müller and Pavard involved on the right before switching it to Hernandez. Coman takes over and finds Kimmich, but Müller misjudges the flight path of the ensuing pass and the move breaks down.
55'

ALL CLEAR

Vargas is back on for Augsburg, who are unrecognisable from the team that played with their backs to the wall for the entire first 45.
53'

VARGAS INJURED

Nasty one for Ruben Vargas, who goes down in some pain after twisting his ankle in the turf. The physios are on.
48'

AUGSBURG THREAT

Kimmich gets in the way of Uduokhai's attempts to turn a cross goalwards. Richter returns the ball with interest as Augsburg win a corner. It comes to nothing, but that's already a vast improvement on the home side's first-half showing as an attacking unit.
46'

STROBL ON

Rani Khedira, who conceded the penalty and was on a yellow card, makes way. No surprise there.

AUGSBURG 0-1 BAYERN

Lewandowski's penalty is the difference, despite 15 Bayern shots on goal to Augsburg's 0. The pressure has been relentless - Bayern really ought to be three or four up.

44'

DOUBLE CHANCE

Lewandowski turns Gnabry's deflected cross against the upright, before Bayern come again with Goretzka. The ball's helped on to Coman, who heads over from close range. How is this only 1-0?!
40'

RIGHT IDEA

Kimmich pings a cross-field pass over to Gnabry in the six-yard box. He tries to side-foot first time towards Lewandowski, but a white shirt gets in the way. Müller was also lurking. How long can Augsburg keep it to 1-0?
38'

GNABRY STINGER

Bayern on the prowl again with a move that Neuer starts, punching Gruezo's cross straight to Coman. He hares into the Augsburg half and finds Lewandowski who, in turn, feeds Gnabry. It's well struck by the Bayern winger, but Gikiewicz gets down well to push clear. The Pole's up again to gather Lewandowski's close-range header from Müller's hanging cross.
37'

KIMMICH CLOSE!

Gruezo only half clears Müller's cross. Kimmich takes it on from the edge of the area, slamming wide with Gikiewicz rooted to the spot. Bayern winning all the second balls - the half-time whistle can't come soon enough for Augsburg.

SPECULATIVE

Hernandez does really well to dispossess Gouweleeuw, who wants a penalty. Bayern go straight up the other end, with Müller quickly shifting the ball into the path of Lewandowski. He spots Gikiewicz off his line, but can't find the target with his attempted lob.
25'

LEWANDOWSKI CHANCE!

Coman hounds the opposition, regaining possession and picking out Lewandowski. To the surprise of the watching world, he fires over.
23'

GNABRY!

Bayern move it very quickly as Kimmich pokes the ball through to Lewandowski. He could go it alone, but unselfishly squares for Gnabry. His curling strike is beaten away by Gikiewicz, and Müller slams the follow-up wide from 18 yards.
22'

BAYERN IN CONTROL

The record champions have started really well. They're all over Augsburg, who are struggling to get out of their own half.
14'

BAYERN LEAD!

It's been coming. Augsburg are all at sea as Khedira catches the outstretched boot of Hernandez in the box. Referee Tobias Stieler is in no doubt, and Lewandowski steps up in his own imitable way, stalling mid run-up, before sending countryman Gikiewicz the wrong way. A record-extending 22nd Bundesliga goal of the campaign for Lewy - after just 17 rounds of fixtures!

OVER!

Lewandowski heads a Kimmich free-kick over the crossbar, but it was Coman who won the set play with a superb run. He beat four Augsburg players, before laying the ball off for Gnabary, who was unceremoniously dumped on the deck.
9'

COMAN THREAT

Brilliant from Coman, who drives forward and whips in a cross for Müller. Gouweeleuw is there first, though, putting the ball out for a corner that fails to make it beyond the near post. Goretzka is back on, by the way.
6'

GORETZKA DOWN

There's a stoppage here as Leon Goretzka goes down clutching his throat. He took an accidental elbow from Rani Khedira, and needs treatment.
3'

FIRST SIGHT OF GOAL

A corner comes in from Kimmich. Lewandowski goes to meet it, but Uduokhai gets there first. He doesn't know too much about it - luckily for him, Gikiewicz is able to gather low.

AWAY WE GO!

Augsburg get the ball rolling at the WWK Arena. The hosts are dressed in all white, Bayern are in their change strip of navy blue with the odd splash of red.
Kick-off!

NEW-LOOK ATTACK

Heiko Herrlich's decision to bench Finnbogason, Florian Niederlechner and Michael Gregoritsch is a first this season. At least one of the trio had started every single one of Augsburg's league games until now. The pacy Andre Hahn could be the focal point of the attack, with a view to exploiting a high defensive line that has shipped 25 goals in 16 top-flight games in 2020/21.

THREE HUNDRED NOT OUT FOR BOATENG

Jerome Boateng makes his 300th Bundesliga appearance tonight. It's a milestone that comprises 75 in a Hamburg shirt, and 225 for Bayern, whom he joined from Manchester City in summer 2011. This season only four players have enjoyed more Bundesliga action than the 32-year-old - Manuel Neuer, Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller and David Alaba - while he has been in the club's top 11 players for minutes played in each of the last three campaigns.

BAYERN'S MAIN MEN

No other players have more Bundesliga goals against Augsburg than Lewandowski (19) and Thomas Müller (eight). Both were on target against Freiburg, taking their respective league tallies for the season to 21 and seven goals. No one has scored as often at this juncture in any campaign as Lewy, while Müller is on course to defend his crown as the Bundesliga's assist king with a league-leading nine so far this term.

IAGO PASSED FIT

Gnabry will go toe-to-toe with Augsburg left-back Iago, who has recovered from a physical complaint of his own. Mads Pedersen drops to the bench, as does striker Alfred Finnbogason. Marco Richter comes in, in the only other change from the team that lost 2-0 to Werder Bremen last time out.

DAVIES BENCHED

Hansi Flick makes one change to the side that battled to a 2-1 win over Freiburg last weekend. Left-back Lucas Hernandez makes his first Bundesliga start of the year, with Alphonso Davies dropping to the bench. Serge Gnabry shakes off a knock to continue in the attacking three behind 21-goal record breaker Robert Lewandowski.

WATCH: PREVIOUS MEETING: BAYERN 2-0 AUGSBURG

Second-half goals from Thomas Müller and Leon Goretzka gave Bayern a deserved win in March 2020.

ONE-SIDED FIXTURE

It is a short trip west from Munich for Bayern, and historically one they have enjoyed making. There have been 18 Bundesliga matches between these two, with Bayern winning 14 and drawing two. Augsburg have won just twice - but last did so in May 2015.

THE STAKES

Dortmund's defeat to Leverkusen yesterday means Bayern have the chance to open up a 10-point lead over BVB. Leipzig are just four points behind though, and are at home to Union Berlin at the same time. Augsburg, meanwhile, are five points clear of the relegation zone, but with two defeats in their last two games, will be eager to bounce back any way they can.
