Union back to winning ways!

Union Berlin end a run of five games without a win with a 2-0 victory. They were particularly impressive after the break, as Khedira and Behrens found the back of the net to give Urs Fischer's men the three points. They are now up to third, while Frankfurt remain in sixth, five points behind the top four.

Everything on the line

Union are doing everything they can to secure all three points here.
85'

Alario thwarted!

This battle between the Argentinian and Ronnow is enthralling, and it is the latter who again comes out on top, comfortably holding the striker's flick-on.
82'

Great chance!

Alario is the next to test Ronnow, who again does what is necessary to keep his clean sheet intact.
77'

Close!

A Philipp Max free-kick into the box evades everyone other than Ronnow, who pushes to safety.
75'

Behrens doubles Union's lead!

Union substitute Behrens surely gives his team all three points! The striker does well to get into the penalty area, and he puts enough on his shot to fire it through Trapp's legs despite the goalkeeper's best efforts.

Khedira delight

You can see just how much the Union captain enjoyed that goal.
72'

Chance!

Lucas Alario, who recently replaced Borre, miskews a shot from close range, giving Ronnow an ultimately simple save.
69'

Almost for Becker!

Frankfurt are beginning to swarm forward, giving Union plenty of space to play in behind. Becker thinks he has ended his 10-game Bundesliga run without a goal as he slots beyond Trapp after picking the ball up just past the halfway line, but he is narrowly offside and the goal is therefore chalked off.

Kolo Muani fires over!

Another Kolo Muani effort now, although his wild shot from a tight angle was never troubling Ronnow.

Plenty to ponder

What can Glasner do to change the outcome here?
54'

Khedira scores!

Union take the lead from the set-piece! The ball falls rather fortunately to Khedira in the six-yard box, and he buries with aplomb to put his side in front. Work for Frankfurt to do now.

Despite Kolo Muani's best efforts, Eintracht Frankfurt go into HT on level terms with Union Berlin, who themselves had a couple of opportunities to take the initiative. Still all to play for in the second half.

Frankfurt turning the screw

Frankfurt are eager to go into the interval header. First, Kamada's shot on the stretch is blocked, before Kolo Muani heads wide once more from the subsequent corner.

Ronnow is this time equal to a Borre attempt after good work from Kolo Muani.

Kolo Muani again

The striker is in loads of space in the penalty area, but he gets too much on his free header as he directs the ball over the crossbar. Getting closer and closer!

Union sloppy

Union have already given away possession a few times in dangerous areas. They need to be careful - Frankfurt are a side that can quickly punish you.
35'

Kamada denied!

Fredrik Ronnow needs to be alert to stop Kamada from close range. Glasner will be happy with what he has seen from his players up until now.

Another goal for Kolo Muani?

The Frenchman has been a threat so far and almost scored earlier - will he find the back of the net today?

Hard-fought

Both teams don't want to give anything to their opponents, with each 50-50 ball being strongly contested.

Head-to-head

This is the first of two fixtures between the two sides over the coming weeks, with the duo facing off in the quarter-finals of the DFB-Cup at the start of April. The teams have only met on nine previous occasions, with Frankfurt winning six times. Union, meanwhile, have prevailed twice, most recently towards the end of last season as they recorded a 2-0 victory.

Union team news

Urs Fischer is more ruthless in his own team selection, bringing in five fresh faces following the 3-0 loss to Saint-Gilloise. Diego Leite, Jerome Roussillon, Morten Thorsby, Aissa Laidouni and Sven Michel all drop to the bench and are replaced by Timo Baumgartl, Niko Gießemann, Paul Seguin, Janik Haberer and Jordan respectively.

Fischer: "We want a reaction"

Like Frankfurt, Union also exited Europe this week and Die Eisernen boss Urs Fischer is hoping for an immediate response today. "We want to show a reaction to the game on Thursday," said Fischer. "It's about the way we performed. We still have 10 match days. At some point we should start winning again."

Glasner: "We have to invest everything to get victory"

Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner told media this week that he expects a tough task at Union today. "Like us, Union performed excellently in Europe," he said. "It will be important to invest everything and get three points before the international break, even though we know that Union are very strong at home."
