No penalty!
The whistle sounds for a penalty as Kabak handles in the box, but there's an offside against Weiser in the build-up. What a let-off for Hoffenheim!

Off the post!
Agonisingly close to a Bremen leveller. Dinkci works his magic and cuts the ball back for Philipp, who strikes the foot of Baumann's right-hand post!

Weiser swings in a free-kick from the left. Pieper meets it, glancing a header out of Baumann's reach and into the bottom corner. Instant impact by the Werder sub, who'd only been on the pitch for 33 seconds!

Füllkrug denied!
Weiser with a great switch of play over to the left. It's knocked down to Ducksch, who leaves it for Füllkrug. He takes it in his stride, only for Geiger to toe the ball away as the Bremen talisman was about to pull the trigger.

Hoffenheim make it two!
Werder haven't learned their lesson. They don't get anywhere near tight enough to the Hoffenheim shirts in and around their area as Kaderabek clips in a cross from the right. It evades Bebou but not Baumgartner, who steals in ahead of Weiser to head in a near carbon-copy second goal.
51'
Hoffenheim lead!
He's barely had a sniff, but Kramaric is the man to give Hoffenheim the lead. Bremen don't deal with Vogt's cross-field pass into the box. Angelino collects and has time and space to pick out his man. Kramaric rises highest and heads home!

No changes
It's as you were at the start of the second half. Can Bremen extend their run of never having played out a goalless draw since Werner took charge on 28 November 2021?

Chance o'clock!
Here come Bremen again as Ducksch has a shot blocked by Brooks, before testing Baumann moments later. He's such a handful with the ball at his feet!
33'
Füllkrug acrobatics!
Another ball in from the flank - this time for Füllkrug. He adjusts his body to connect with a scissor-kick that forces Bauman into a more routine diving stop.
32'
Ducksch!
Werder get the ball out to Weiser again. He fires in an inch-perfect cross for Ducksch, whose first-time strike is beaten away by Baumann.
26'
Offside!
Bremen catch out Hoffenheim with a rapier-like break. Ducksch helps it onto Schmidt, who forces Bauman into a save, low to his left, but there's an offside in the build-up.
21'
No way through
Bremen are hogging the ball right now, but Hoffenheim are not allowing them to get it out wide and into their front two of Füllkrug and Ducksch - which is such a key facet of their game.

Brilliant from Friedl, who celebrates a goal-saving challenge on Bebou as a striker might a goal. Baumgartner split the Werder defence there, and it looked like Pavlenka was beaten.

Table talk
The bottom two - Stuttgart and Schalke - lost on Saturday, while Hertha drew with Freiburg. Unless Hoffenheim lose by seven clear goals, they'll end the weekend outside the relegation zone. A win would even lift them three points clear of the play-off spot. Bremen, meanwhile, are nine points better off in the relative comforts of 11th place. Climbing one rung on the league ladder is a possibility, if Gladbach don't win in Cologne.
More on those teams
Matarazzo makes two changes to the team that beat Hertha 3-1 prior to the March international break. Angelino replaces the injured Robert Skov on the left-hand side, while Finn Becker is preferred to Angelo Stiller in central midfield. As for Bremen, goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka, defenders Marco Friedl and Milos Veljkovic, and midfielders Christian Groß and Romano Schmid return to the starting line-up. Messrs Zetterer, Pieper, Chiarodia, Gruev and Stage make way.

Hope for Hoffenheim
Hoffenheim are unbeaten in their last seven Bundesliga visits to Bremen, winning two and drawing five. Against no other club do they have such a positive balance.
Double trouble
Bremen forwards Marvin Ducksch and Niclas Füllkrug are the Bundesliga's best strike duo this season with a combined goal tally of 23. Ducksch has scored more in the second half of the campaign (five) than Füllkrug (four).
Away day blues
Hoffenheim have lost each of their last six away matches in the Bundesliga, an unwanted club record.
