The Eintracht man clatters into the back of Brandt, who drops to the turf. An easy yellow for the ref to flash there.

Half-time
As we watch Dortmund walk off for a break pretty satisfied with themselves, Mats Hummels receives some backslaps from his teammates. The defender has scored in the Bundesliga for the first time since October 2021. BVB are cruising.

BVB in the zone
Adeyemi has an age on the ball on the right. He rolls a pass across the box where Guerreiro waits. A subsequent cross in for Hummels ends with the defender powering home with a header. As things stand, BVB are going top of the Bundesliga.

Trapp denies Adeyemi
Suddenly BVB's No. 27 is away. The Germany international, head down, has only one thing in mind as he comes face to face with Kevin Trapp. Eintracht's goalkeeper beats out the shot. But there is a problem for Trapp, here, as he appears to have picked up an injury.

Hummels to BVB's rescue
Eintracht come straight back. Götze brilliantly controls a ball over the top and manages to get a shot away. Hummels races in to block wide. That was solid defending by the BVB veteran.

Eintracht under threat?
Are we to expect a BVB onslaught against an Eintracht side with an injury crisis? There's no Kristijan Jakic, Evan Ndicka, Philipp Max or Hrvoje Smolcic for the Eagles this evening but the visitors do boast the deadly threat of forward Randal Kolo Muani, he of the division-leading 23 goal involvements this term.

Pressure increases
What a chance BVB have been presented with here. The hosts know that after rivals Bayern Munich's surprise loss against Mainz earlier, the Black-and-Yellows can go top of the standings with a win. Expect the noise levels to increase even further ahead of kick-off at the Signal Iduna Park.

Glasner: "About time we got a win again!"
Frankfurt may only have won one of their last 10 games in all competitions - their DFB Cup quarter-final clash with Union Berlin - but coach Oliver Glasner is still bullish about their chances of causing an upset tonight. "Dortmund are a very good team who kicked off 2023 with an incredible run, but their performances have been more up and down recently," he said. "They've got a lot of quality and are strong at home, but despite all that, it's about time we got a win again!"

The race is on!
Dortmund missed the chance to go level on points with leaders Bayern last weekend. Depending on how the defending champions fare in Mainz earlier on Saturday, BVB could be as many as five points off the pace come kick-off. Frankfurt, meanwhile, could really use a win to reignite their push for a top-six finish.
