Hertha on the brink
There was to be no new coach bounce for Hertha under the returning Pal Dardai. They were soundly beaten at home to Bremen, and remain rooted to the foot of the table. Prior to Matchday 30, the gap to Stuttgart in the relegation play-off spot is three points and five to the safe house.
Bayern doing the hunting with five games to go
The defending champions' shock 3-1 loss in Mainz has opened the door to title rivals Dortmund. Bayern ended Matchday 29 a point behind the new leaders, but could be as many as four off the pace if BVB win in Bochum on Friday.
