Beautiful move, beautiful goal!
The home side work it neatly in and around Kiel's penalty box, as Pléa flicks it round the corner to Reitz and then receives it back from his teammate on the edge of the area. He sweeps it past Weiner with a first-time finish into the bottom-left corner to make it 4-1.
77'
That's a yellow
Remberg goes studs up into Pléa and duly receives a booking.
75'

Kiel aren't going out without a fight here. The midfielder tries a long-range effort which takes a big deflection and goes out for a corner, which is ultimately cleared by the home side.

First booking of the day
Scally receives the first caution of the game after a tactical foul in midfield.
68'
Pichler denied
The Kiel sub wins the ball back with a sliding challenge on Itakura in Gladbach's penalty box and then plays it across the box. Nicolas gets a glove to it, then Ullrich slides in on the line and the ball is finally collected by the 'keeper.
64'
Honorat looking for more
The winger drives down the right flank before trying to square it to Kleindienst in the centre. His flat cross is intercepted, but it comes back to the Frenchman, who then decides to work the space for a shot. The effort is deflected and goes behind for a corner, from which nothing comes.
62'
Attacking swap
Top scorer Machino has come on in place of Holtby to try and give Kiel more of an attacking impulse.

Hosts seeing more of the ball
The Foals are keeping it nice controlled as they work it through the ranks and around the pitch.
55'
Chance goes begging
Bernhardsson found himself in some space on the left side of the box, but the first touch wasn't perfect and so the ball was still spinning as he went to strike the ball, and the effort flew over the goal.
52'
Just over from Ullrich
Itakura nods the ball back across the box and into the path of the young left-back following a corner, but Ullrich doesn't get a clean contact on the ball and heads it over.
51'
Skills from Honorat
A lovely spin from the Frenchman, who turns away from two Kiel defenders with a stunning piece of skill.
50'
Just too far
Scally crosses in from the right, looking to pick out Kleindienst, but it just goes over the Germany international's head.
46'
Here we go again!
The hosts kick things off for the second 45 minutes, with Gladbach seemingly having a firm grip on proceedings.

If you don't buy a ticket, you don't win the raffle
Gigović's shot may only have had an Expected Goals rating of 0.022, but the midfielder was brave and powered a special effort into the Gladbach goal. His goal is now part of the top five most unlikely goals of the season, based on xG.
30'
Bolt from the blue
Gigović tries his luck from long range and sends a rocket into the top-right corner to get the visitors back in this game. Nicolas was absolutely helpless and all of a sudden, it's a one-goal game once again.
29'
A well-timed run
Hack's goal was briefly checked for a potential offside, but it turns out the winger had timed his run to perfection in the build-up to scoring his first Bundesliga goal of 2024/25.
26'
Cheeky chip
The winger is played in behind with a ball over the top, and after a Kiel defender swings a leg at the ball but fails to clear the danger, Hack opts for the aerial route, looping it over Weiner and into the back of the net.
25'
More like it from the Storks
The visitors pose an attacking threat for the first time today. Holtby gets played in behind the Gladbach defence and looks to sweep it across the by-line from inside the box, but Itakura is there to intervene and clears it from danger.
24'
Foals pressing for a second
Honorat is next to try his luck and he sends a volleyed effort on the rebound towards goal. Once again, the target is missed, but it is all Gladbach at the minute with Kiel struggling to find an escape route.
21'
Hack goes close!
The Gladbach winger cuts in off the left wing and tries to curl it into the top-right corner from the edge of the box, but the ball doesn't come down in time, instead sailing over the crossbar.
19'
Over this time!
Gladbach's captain for the day almost headed in a second! Getting on the end of Reitz's cross in from the right, Kleindienst puts his free header at the back post just over the frame.

History serves the Foals well
Gladbach have won all five of their league matches in which they have taken the lead, which makes for bad reading for Kiel.

Caught napping
The only goal scored quicker than Kleindienst's today was that of Jamal Musiala on matchday 3. His opponents that day? Kiel, who have been caught out right from the very start once again.

Getting straight down to business
Kleindienst's early opener is the second-fastest league goal scored so far this season.

Captain fantastic straight from kick-off!
What a start for the Foals! Kleindienst gets the move going with some good hold-up play to work it wide to Honorat, before bursting into the box to get on the end of the Frenchman's cross and power it home with his head for 1-0.
Kick-off!
Not long to go
Kick-off at Borussia-Park is less than ten minutes away.
Luca who's back
Luca Netz has been named in a matchday squad for the first time in over two months. The Gladbach left-back has recently been sidelined with a foot injury, but has a place on the bench today.
Timmy 'Skipper' Smallservice
For the first time in a Bundesliga match, Tim Kleindienst will lead his team out as captain, after being awarded the armband for this afternoon's fixture.
