Full-time: Gladbach 4-1 Kiel

A strong and convincing second-half display from the Foals, as Pléa rounded off a nice team move to add a fourth before the offside flag denied Kleindienst a second goal just before the end. A day to forget for Kiel, who concede four on the road for the first time in the league this season.

More on those teams

Gerardo Seoane has made two changes to the side that began the 1-1 draw against Dortmund. Philipp Sander has replaced the suspended Julian Weigl, who picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against his former side last weekend. In addition, Robin Hack starts ahead of Kevin Stöger in attacking midfield. Kiel boss Marcel Rapp has also opted to make a pair of changes to the Storks' last XI. Lewis Holtby has replaced Magnus Knudsen in midfield, and Steven Skrzybski has got the nod ahead of Shuto Machino up front.

Stunning home form

Borussia Mönchengladbach have picked up 13 of a possible 15 points from their last five home games. Extending this run of five Bundesliga home games without defeat to six would see the team equal Seoane's best tally. If Borussia beat Kiel, they will have recorded as many home wins by Matchday 14 as they did in the entire previous season (five).

Gerardo Seoane on facing Kiel

"It will be important for us to be focused for 90 minutes, find a good mix in our attacking play and stay compact so that if we are outnumbered, we soon win the ball again at the back. We want to have more possession than we did against Dortmund."
camera-photo

Marcel Rapp on facing Gladbach

"We need to pass the ball around quickly and run well to get into decent positions. We took a step forward against Leipzig with that."

Short history

These two teams have only met twice before in official competition, all the way back in 1965, winning one apiece. More recently, they faced off in a friendly in July 2024, with Gladbach emerging 1-0 winners thanks to Grant-Leon Ranos's lone strike.
