South America’s flagship competition has been expanded this year to include six teams from North and Central America, with the tournament being played in the USA between 20 June and 14 July and featuring six Bundesliga players going for continental gold.

The hosts, coached by former Energie Cottbus and 1860 Munich defender Gregg Berhalter, have included two Germany-based players in Borussia Mönchengladbach full-back Joe Scally and Union Berlin forward Brenden Aaronson.

Defending champions and World Cup holders Argentina have Bayer Leverkusen's Bundesliga-DFB Cup double winner Exequiel Palacios in their ranks.

Ex-RB Leipzig boss Jesse Marsch has named Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies in Canada’s roster, with the left-sider set to reach 50 caps during the tournament.

Ecuador have two left-footed defenders from the Bundesliga, in Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Willian Pacho.
