Bayern Munich launch new Oktoberfest jersey
Record Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have launched a new version of their Oktoberfest jersey, to mark the return of the city's famous beer festival in 2022.
On 17 September, the Oktoberfest finally returned for the first time since 2019, after the last two editions were cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since then, thousands of revelers have descened upon the Theresienwiese to soak up the unique atmosphere of the world's biggest folk festival, and of course sample local beer by the litre in traditional Wiesn-Maß steins.
Bayern are always VIP guests for the event, with players such as Thomas Müller, Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry attending with their partners three years ago. This time around, the reigning German champions may trade the customary Bavarian Lederhosen for their new-look, adidas-designed Oktoberfest jersey, which has been released "to celebrate Bavarian tradition and lifestyle together with the fans".
Bayern could debut their limited edition threads against Bayer Leverkusen on Matchday 8 - their final Bundesliga fixture of the Oktoberfest season.
