Benjamin Henrichs joins RB Leipzig on loan from Monaco
Benjamin Henrichs has joined RB Leipzig on a one-year loan from Monaco, with Julian Nagelsmann's side holding an option to make the deal permanent.
The versatile 23-year-old, who can line up on either side of defence and even midfield, will wear the number 39 shirt.
A product of Bayer Leverkusen's youth academy, Henrichs made his professional debut for the club in September 2015, aged 18. He became a first-team regular in 2016/17, earning his first of three senior international caps to date that same season. When he left for Monaco in summer 2018, the 2017 FIFA Conderations Cup winner had made 76 appearances in all competitions for Die Werkself.
Henrichs turned out 44 times for Monaco, playing in the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League group stage. He was part of the Germany U21 team that reached the UEFA U21 Euro final in summer 2019, but will not be eligible to play for Nagelsmann's side in the Champions League final eight tournament in August.
