Borussia Dortmund's extraordinary home record on Friday
Friday the 13th might be considered bad luck for some, but Borussia Dortmund swept aside superstition in the Bundesliga Matchday 3 opener against Heidenheim to set an astonishing record.
Nuri Şahin's side ran out 4-2 winners in an entertaining encounter at the Signal Iduna Park, with Karim Adeyemi, Donyell Malen and Emre Can all on target as they continued their unbeaten start to the 2024/25 campaign.
The result also means that BVB are unbeaten in front of their own fans across the last 37 Bundesliga games on a Friday evening.

Indeed, the last time Dortmund lost at home on a Friday was over 20 years ago, back in January 2004, when they were beaten 1-0 by local rivals Schalke.
Since then they have won 28 and drawn nine times under the Friday night lights at home, equalling the unbeaten record set by Werder Bremen.
"After we went 3-1 up we eased off a bit and it then things became tight again,” said Can, who secured the points late on with a coolly taken spot-kick.
