Borussia Dortmund are ensuring football really is a sport for all as the Bundesliga giants give blind fans the chance to savour the inimitable atmosphere of the Signal Iduna Park that sighted supporters take for granted.

The famed Südkurve is a sight to behold, but simply hearing the passion of more than 80,000 fans cheering their team on is enough to give anyone goosebumps.

Dortmund are offering this experience to blind supporters who want to feel what the atmosphere is really like, and to be able to follow the kick-by-kick action on the pitch with the aid of a personal commentator.

"Winning trophies doesn't attract me. It's how they treat the fans, it's just the good vibes you get from everyone. It makes it a proper football club," said Jamie McAllister, a blind BVB fan from the English city of Coventry on his first visit to the Signal Iduna Park.

"The atmosphere was just completely different level. I was happy. I couldn't believe I was experiencing it and I was right next to it. It changed my whole experience of a football atmosphere."

He could hardly have picked a better day for his Dortmund home debut. Sitting pitchside "where I can feel it a lot more", Jamie and his companion Justin felt BVB's iconic stadium rock as Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland & Co. put five past Union Berlin.

"Being involved in that kind of atmosphere and joining in…it's mind-blowing!" Jamie said after the game. "Everyone has made me feel more welcome than I've ever felt in a football club, it's just crazy."
