The Bundesliga will have the second-highest number of players of any league in the world at UEFA Euro 2020, with 92 who play their club football in Germany in line to feature at this month's tournament.

Reigning world player of the year Robert Lewandowski leads the list of star names who will feature at the European Championship, with a total of 18 German clubs being represented.

Champions Bayern Munich will have 14 players on international duty this summer, with eight of them hoping to be part of what would be the fourth German side to be crowned European champions.

Goalkeeper and captain Manuel Neuer tops the list of Bayern employees who are part of Joachim Löw's squad, with Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane packing plenty of pace and power.

Their club mate and Bundesliga assist king Thomas Müller has made his return after a three-year absence, with fellow 2014 FIFA World Cup winner Mats Hummels also back in the fold.

Hummels will come up against his Borussia Dortmund teammate Raphael Guerreiro when Germany face the defending champions in the group stage. Portugal forward Andre Silva - who got 28 goals in 32 games for Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2020/21 Bundesliga - could also pose a serious threat on 19 June.

Before that Germany open their campaign in Munich on 15 June against world champions France, who have Bayern trio Lucas Hernandez, Benjamin Pavard and Corentin Tolisso in their ranks as well as Borussia Mönchengladbach's Marcus Thuram.

Germany's final group game is on 23 June against a Hungarian squad that features four Bundesliga players. Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi and defender Willi Orban will hope to get one over club colleagues Marcel Halstenberg and Lukas Klostermann, while Freiburg's Roland Sallai and Mainz forward Adam Szalai - the captain of Hungary - will add some attacking threat.

2020/21 DFB Cup winners Dortmund will have 10 players at the tournament in total, with England duo Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho out to transfer their superb club form to the international stage.

That is true of Poland captain Lewandowski too, after he finished with a record-breaking 41 goals in 29 league matches to lead Bayern to a ninth consecutive title. The 32-year-old - already his country's record scorer with 66 goals - certainly has the potential to top the scoring charts at Euro 2020.

The biggest contingent of Bundesliga players are with Austria. Twenty two of their 26-man squad were on the books of German top-flight clubs during 2020/21, including recently departed Bayern defender David Alaba as well as Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer and VfB Stuttgart's towering 16-goal frontman Sasa Kalajdzic.

While the German squad features 17 Bundesliga players, Switzerland also have 12 Bundesliga stalwarts including Nico Elvedi, Breel Embolo, Yann Sommer and Denis Zakaria of Gladbach.

Croatia's Andrej Kramaric and the Netherlands' Wout Weghorst - both of whom found the net 20 times for Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg respectively in 2020/21 - are among the other Bundesliga stars to watch out for.
