Calendar for the 2024/25 season: Bundesliga to start on 23 August 2024
The calendar for the 2024/25 season has been set. As revealed in the schedule adopted by the Executive Committees of the German Football Association (DFB) and DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, the opening match of the Bundesliga will take place on 23 August 2024, while Bundesliga 2 will kick off three weeks earlier on 2 August 2024.
The winter break will come after Matchday 15 in the Bundesliga and 17 in Bundesliga 2 (20-22 December 2024) before play resumes in the Bundesliga on 10 January 2025. The second division restarts the following week on 17 January.
The final matchday in the Bundesliga is scheduled for Saturday, 17 May 2025. Bundesliga 2 will conclude the day after on Sunday, 18 May.
The Supercup between the reigning Bundesliga champions and DFB Cup holders will be played on Saturday, 17 August 2024. The 2024/25 DFB Cup campaign also begins that weekend (16-19 August). The two cup fixtures involving the teams contesting the Supercup are scheduled for 27/28 August. The final in Berlin will be played on Saturday, 24 May 2025.
