Erling Haaland's Borussia Dortmund adventure to end after forward agrees to Manchester City move
Borussia Dortmund have announced that striker Erling Haaland will leave the club to join Premier League side Manchester City, bringing to an end a glorious two-and-a-half years for the Norwegian scoring sensation in the Bundesliga.
Haaland signed for BVB from Red Bull Salzburg and hit the ground running in Germany's top division, scoring a hat-trick after debuting as a substitute against Augsburg in January 2020.
It was a sign of things to come for the 21-year-old at the Black-and-Yellows, the forward going on to net an incredible 61 goals in 66 Bundesliga appearances and managing 85 goals in 88 games across all competitions during his time in Germany.

"I had the feeling from an early stage that I really wanted to join this club, go this way, and play in the incredible Dortmund atmosphere in front of over 80,000 supporters. I can't wait to get started," were Haaland's words shortly after he made his move to Die Schwarzgelben. And true to those very words, the Norway international got to delighting Borussia's fans in dramatic fashion. He became the quickest player ever to reach 50 Bundesliga goals, doing so in only a half-century of appearances. At one point this season, Haaland was managing one goal every 56 minutes.
All told, the 6ft 4in' striker has netted three hat-tricks and an incredible 19 doubles in the Bundesliga alone, while showcasing to the world his immense power, speed and in-game intelligence. As if that were not enough, he is selfless too, with Haaland laying on 23 assists during a Dortmund career, in which he won the 2021 DFB Cup.
So, it's a case of thanks for the memories and best of luck in your new adventure, Erling Haaland, as Bundesliga fans set their sights on the next striking superstar to step into the limelight.
