Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland hails Robert Lewandowski's "crazy" goalscoring for Bayern Munich
Borussia Dortmund star striker Erling Haaland has revealed his admiration for Robert Lewandowski’s "crazy" goalscoring exploits and acknowledged he can learn a lot from Bayern Munich’s prolific marksman.
Haaland has hit the ground scoring since his January 2020 arrival in Germany, and has netted 17 times in as many Bundesliga appearances this season.
But the 20-year-old still finds himself trailing Lewandowski by some distance with the Bayern man having struck an incredible 26 times in 21 top-flight games for the European champions in 2020/21.

"That man is crazy. He is just crazy," Haaland told Norwegian TV. "When I score I score a goal it’s like 'One goal closer to catching up to him'. And then he just scores another hat-trick like it’s an everyday thing. What he does is so crazy."
While Haaland scored 13 times in his first half-season in the Bundesliga with Dortmund, Lewandowski netted 34 goals last season to set a new record for a foreign-born player in the German top flight. It was a tally that won him the Torjägerkanone as the division's leading scorer for a third successive campaign and the fifth time in his career.
At just 20, Haaland is just making his first, impressive strides in the game, and is a keen student of his 32-year-old peer.
"A lot," was the Dortmund forward's reply when asked what he can learn from Lewandowski. "Primarily, he is extremely good technically and in the build-up phase. I can learn a lot from that. I watch every Bayern match and learn a lot from them in general. It is a fantastic team. I watch them, and he is fantastic in some of the build-up play. And his positioning…
"The combination and relations between him and the other players is...They always know where he is, and he always manages to be there and finish the attacks. That is impressive."
