Bayern remain at the top of the Bundesliga table, four points ahead of a formidable Bayer Leverkusen side, with just over half the campaign gone. They have won four games on the bounce, scoring 14 goals and conceding just three times. Two of those victories have seen them score five goals in a game, with RB Leipzig (5-1) and Hoffenheim (5-0) falling victim to a ferocious frontline. With a goal difference of +41, Bayern have both the best defence and best attack in Germany's top division, managing to net 56 times in 18 games whilst only conceding 15 goals so far. Vincent Kompany's men also lead the league for average possession (66%) and shots taken (356), which is 64 more than Leverkusen in second (292). Their ability to overwhelm teams offensively without giving much away defensively has also become a feature of their European adventures, having had a shaky start to their Champions League campaign. They have won their last three games though (against Benfica, Paris Saint-Germain and Shakhtar Donetsk), conceding just once in that time and scoring seven at the other end. Having come off the bench in the last two games, Jamal Musiala is expected to return from the off here, playing off Harry Kane. There's also competition in midfield to partner Joshua Kimmich, with Leon Goretzka - scorer of a brace in the weekend's 3-2 win over Wolfsburg - seemingly ahead of Aleksandar Pavlović at the moment.

Feyenoord currently sit fourth in the Eredivisie, 10 points away from league leaders PSV Eindhoven. Their last six games paint an inconsistent picture, having won two, drawn two and lost two. They have only lost three league games in total, however, and have scored the second most goals in the league (42) behind table-topping PSV (62). Feyenoord's most recent result was a 1-1 draw against Willem II, who had Jens Mathijsen, son of former Hamburg defender Joris, on the bench. In the Champions League, they have lost just twice, with one of those defeats coming at home to Bundesliga champions Leverkusen (4-0). They've won three and drawn one of the remaining four games, most recently claiming a 4-2 victory at home to Sparta Prague. Their one and only draw of the campaign so far was arguably their most impressive result, as they came from three goals down against Manchester City to rescue a point at the Etihad Stadium, with all three of their goals coming in the last 15 minutes of the game.

Bayern's Kompany men

What makes the Bundesliga leaders and Champions League contenders so good right now? We put Vincent Kompany's team under the tactical spotlight.

Tale of the tape

Somewhat surprisingly, this will be only Feyenoord and Bayern's third meeting in UEFA competition. The sides met in the 2001/02 Champions League group stage, playing out a 2-2 draw in Rotterdam before Bayern won the return fixture 3-1 with a Giovane Elber brace.

Goals galore

The Bavarian giants are also among the top scorers in the Champions League, having netted 17 times in their six tournament matches to date. Last time out, a 5-1 against Shakhtar Donetsk propelled Bayern up to 10th in the standings - one place behind Borussia Dortmund - and has the six-time European champions just outside the automatic qualifying spots for the Round of 16 with two league phase games to go.

Bayern on song

Bundesliga leaders and scorers of 14 goals in their last four German top-flight games (all wins), record champions Bayern are in formidable form at present, with last weekend's victory against Wolfsburg sending Vincent Kompany's men to the Netherlands in fine spirits.
