Fisnik Asllani to stay at Hoffenheim after RB Leipzig transfer collapses
Hoffenheim have confirmed that attacker Fisnik Asllani will remain at the club after a potential transfer to league rivals RB Leipzig collapsed.
Hoffenheim published a statement on their social media channels on Friday revealing that they had been in talks with RB Leipzig about a possible move for the 23-year-old.
However, the transfer will not be completed "due to medical concerns raised by Leipzig." No further details were given as to what those issues were.
"Fisnik has made remarkable progress at Hoffenheim," said Hoffenheim's managing director for sport, Andreas Schicker.
"The fact that this transfer is no longer happening is anything but bad news for us from a sporting perspective. We have complete confidence that Fisnik is capable of performing at the highest level, both physically and on the pitch.
"We stand by our player. Fisnik played a key role in our success last season, completed pre-season to his usual high standard and will rejoin the squad in training next week."
Asllani scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in 33 Bundesliga games for Hoffenheim in 2025/26 as they qualified for the UEFA Europa League. The previous season, he netted 18 times for Elversberg in Bundesliga 2, almost firing the club to the top flight for the first time in their history.
