The five fastest players so far in 2024/25
Loïs Openda and Alphonso Davies make the list but are not at the top. In a season in which we have already seen a new fastest-ever speed set, bundesliga.com runs through the five speediest players so far.
1. Sirlord Conteh (Heidenheim), 22.87 mp/h
While the season has not gone entirely to plan for Heidenheim, who are currently down in 15th in the relegation/promotion play-off spot, the immense speed of Conteh might help as they gear up for a challenge to survive a second season in the Bundesliga. He clocked the fastest time of any player this season as a substitute in a plucky 4-2 defeat at Bayern Munich on Matchday 13 - and with it the fastest time in the German top flight since records began in 2011/12.

2. Gerrit Holtmann (VfL Bochum), 22.82 mp/h
The Bochum winger and Philippines international recorded the fastest speed of the season so far when chasing to 22.82 mp/h as Bochum were beaten 7-2 by Eintracht Frankfurt on Matchday 9. While he lost top spot to Conteh a few weeks later, Holtmann is the fastest player ever for Bochum, who currently sit bottom of the Bundesliga.
3. Loïs Openda (RB Leipzig), 22.76 mp/h
As well as smashing six goals in the current season for Leipzig, the blistering Belgian is in third place in the Bundesliga speed list this season - setting a new club record for Leipzig in the process.
4. Nathan Ngoumou (Borussia Mönchengladbach), 22.69 mp/h
Young Frenchman Ngoumou may have only made two starts along with seven substitute appearances so far this season but has not needed much playing time to race into the top five. The 22.69 mp/h he is recorded at is the fastest any player has ever galloped at Gladbach.
5. Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich), 22.49 mp/h
Bayern's flying Canadian full-back is a figure you would always expect to be around the top of the speed rankings and he is getting even faster! The 22.49 mp/h he hit this season is a personal best.
