Harry Kane helps Bayern Munich stay perfect with Galatasaray win
Harry Kane scored one and made another as Bayern Munich maintained their perfect start in UEFA Champions League Group A with victory over Turkish champions Galatasaray.
Bayern travelled to Istanbul as the team to beat in the section, after back-to-back wins over Manchester United and Copenhagen. Kingsley Coman duly put them on course for a third, applying a smart finish to Jamal Musiala's mazy run and assist, but the record champions were indebted to goalkeeper Sven Ulreich for preventing a first-half turnaround. Having already thwarted Kerem Aktürkoğlu with the score goalless, Manuel Neuer's understudy pulled off a superb stop from the same player, before tipping over from Mauro Icardi. Ulreich was eventually beaten in the 30th minute when Icardi won and coverted a penalty following a foul by Joshua Kimmich, but dusted himself off to deny Aktürkoğlu in a very presentable one-on-one.
Bayern rediscovered their customary attacking dynamism at the start of the second half as Coman set up Leroy Sané for a shot from inside the area that sailed over. Galatasaray continued to get at Thomas Tuchel's team, though, with Lucas Torreira a whisker away with his 18-yard strike before heading into the side netting on the hour. Bayern responded in kind as Sané's low drive forced Fernando Muslera into a sprawling save. And their superior individual quality told in the final 20 minutes. Kane scored at the second attempt after his initial effort had been blocked, before turning provider for Musiala to seal a workmanlike win that keeps Bayern comfortably on course for the round of 16.

Kane's been kept quiet, but he takes his chance when it comes. Musiala has time and space to find the Englishman, whose initial effort is blocked. But he buries the rebound!
A warning shot from the hosts as Torreira bends an effort wide from outside the box. Not sure Ulreich would have stopped that!

"As awesome game!"
Bayern have collared their former Bundesliga champion and ex Galatasaray forward Lukas Podolski for a pre-match interview and the 38-year-old told the Bundesliga side's official website about what FCB can expect in Istanbul: "It's going to be an awesome game! It's a spectacular stadium and the atmosphere is fantastic. It's special because the whole crowd go with you and get behind the team. I enjoyed every home match there."
Both sides are going through their respective pre-game warm-ups as the Ali Sami Yen Stadium fills ahead of kick-off.
Bayern team news
The record German champions make a single change to the team that began the Bundesliga Matchday 8 win against Mainz last weekend. Noussair Mazraoui starts with Leon Goretzka, who has suffered a hand injury, missing out. Guerreiro, Gnabry and Upamecano are also out injured for the visitors while goalkeeper Manuel Neuer hasn't travelled.
Coach Okan Buruk shows just one change to the side that started last Saturday's win against Beşiktaş . Former Leipzig and Hoffenheim full back Angeliño is replaced by Kazımcan Karataş. Mauro Icardi, meanwhile, has recovered from a knock to his ankle and starts.
It is not just Kane Galatasaray will have to watch out for - Leroy Sané has been close to unstoppable this campaign.
Galatasaray's German struggles
The hosts, meanwhile, will have to do something they have never managed before to defeat Bayern. In five previous fixtures against Bundesliga clubs on home turf, Gala have never prevailed, drawing on three occasions and losing twice.
Fun on their travels
Bayern come into this clash with plenty of positive away memories in recent years. They are currently unbeaten in their last 18 Champions League clashes away from the Allianz Arena (W16, D2), which is a competition record.

Bayern's new signing has already scored nine league goals to add to his UEFA Champions League strike against Manchester United - you can see all of his Bundesliga efforts here.
Team news - Galatasaray
There are few absentees for Okan Buruk to contend with, although two players who could potentially miss tonight's clash are big names. Hakim Ziyech has managed just two appearances for his new club since his summer move from Chelsea, and while he could be in contention to feature here, it would be a risk to field him from the start. Mauro Icardi, meanwhile, has plundered 14 goals in 15 matches this term, including two in the weekend's 2-1 victory over Besiktas. However, he suffered an ankle injury in that clash, and could well be unavailable here as a result.
Bayern and Galatasaray have met just twice before, in the first round of the 1972/73 European Cup. The Turkish outfit held the Bavarians to a 1-1 draw on home soil before losing 6-0 in the second leg as Bayern ultimately secured a comfortable passage to the next stage. Overall, Bayern have played six games against Turkish teams, winning five and drawing one - they will therefore be eager to keep that unbeaten run going tonight.
Team news - Bayern Munich
Dayot Upamecano and Raphael Guerreiro remain injury absentees, with Manuel Neuer on the brink of finally returning in goal after his long absence - but not expected to do so in Istanbul. Leon Goretzka is a doubt following an arm injury sustained in Saturday's win in Mainz. Harry Kane has a goal and two assists in his first two Champions League appearances for Bayern and is almost certain to lead the line again.

Harry Kane scored his ninth goal in his eighth Bundesliga appearance as Bayern continued their unbeaten start to the league season.
Form - Bayern
Bayern continue to set new yardsticks with their incredible Champions League group stage record of recent years. They are now unbeaten in 36 group ties, while their 2-1 win in Copenhagen earlier this month was a record 19th away group stage match unbeaten - although that record will be tested in Istanbul. The champions remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga and are third in the table after a 3-1 win at Mainz on Saturday.
Form - Galatasaray
It's fair to say the hosts are on a bit of a high right now after their dramatic 3-2 win at Manchester United on the previous Champions League matchday - their first-ever win in England. The Turkish champions are second in Group A with four points (two fewer than Bayern) and are unbeaten domestic league leaders - taking a 2-1 win over Istanbul rivals Beşiktaş at the weekend.
