Bayern Munich's Harry Kane thanks club for support as he awaits 2026 Ballon d’Or awards ceremony
Harry Kane’s 2025/26 campaign saw him score 61 goals in Bayern Munich colours, a tally that fired his side to a league and DFB Cup double and a UEFA Champions League semi-final, and could yet fire him to even more individual glory.
During the past season, Kane achieved milestone after goalscoring milestone, knocking them down almost as consistently as he was hitting the back of the net.
As a result, Bayern teammates and coaches alike are fully behind Kane as he hopes to become the first Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001 to pick up the prestigious Ballon d’Or award, support the lethal finisher is well aware of.
“I really appreciate how my colleagues and the club are getting behind me,” the England captain told Bayern's club website. “We work extremely hard together, and I work as hard as possible for the team. It’s really pleasing that they support me so much.”

Kane was equally electric for England this past year, with his combined total of 73 goals for club and country between August 2025 and July 2026 becoming the second-best scoring season by any player since the turn of the millennium, behind only Lionel Messi’s 82 in 69 matches for Barcelona and Argentina in 2011/12.
Such goalscoring heroics have put him in a strong position to possibly win the Ballon d’Or, with this year’s ceremony at the end of October also taking place in his home city of London.
“It’s obviously special for me that the ceremony is taking place in London. I come from London and lived there for a long time – maybe that’s a good omen,” reflected Kane. “The Ballon d’Or would be a massive success for me, but at the moment I’m concentrating on performing again this season.”

Before the much-anticipated awards ceremony, Kane will have both Bundesliga and Champions League action to worry about, which will see the ex-Tottenham Hotspur captain come up against former arch-rivals Arsenal once again.
“Arsenal are a strong team, and I had a lot of great battles against them over the years,” explained the Bayern star. “Obviously it feels a bit different with Bayern than it did then with Tottenham. The main thing for me is doing my job and winning the game.”
Kane has a superb record against the Gunners, netting 15 times in 22 times against the reigning Premier League champions.
He’s won eight of those previous meetings with both Bayern and Tottenham, drawing six and losing the remaining eight encounters.
He’ll look to add another win to that record when he comes up against them again on 21 October, before heading to the Ballon D’or ceremony full of confidence.
