Eintracht Frankfurt have completed the loan signing of Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitiké on a short-term deal until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Ekitiké spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan at PSG from Stade Reims before making the permanent switch in the summer. The 21-year-old registered four goals and four assists in 32 competitive games last term, but has only made one appearance for the defending French champions so far this season.

"Hugo's a young player, who has already showed what huge potential he has," said Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche. "We were convinced he was right for us in the summer, and haven't forgotten about him. We're happy we've been able to make the deal happen within our means. We'll give him all the time he needs to settle."

A Ligue 1 and French Super Cup winner with PSG, Ekitiké got his senior break at Reims, producing 11 goals and four assists in 26 appearances in 2021/22, having debuted for the club in October of the previous campaign. The former France U20 international also scored three goals in 11 Danish top-flight outings whilst on loan at Vejle in 2021.

Ekitiké's arrival follows Jessic Ngankam's loan move to Mainz. Omar Marmoush is Eintracht's seven-goal top scorer so far in 2023/24, but has missed the first three games of the new year after being called up to represent Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations. The Eagles have also brought in former VfB Stuttgart striker Saša Kalajdžić on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
