Ismael Saibari gets first look at new Bayern Munich home
New Bayern Munich signing Ismael Saibari has made his first visit to the club's Säbener Straße training base.
The Morocco international arrived in Munich on Wednesday, two weeks after signing a contract until 2031 while on FIFA World Cup 2026 duty.
Fresh from helping the Atlas Lions reach the quarter-finals, the 25-year-old was all smiles as he toured the club's facilities alongside his family and met members of Bayern's staff.
Although he did not visit the Allianz Arena during the trip, Saibari admitted he can't wait to step out at Bayern's famous home ground.
"I'm really excited about the Allianz Arena," Saibari explained. "I've never played there before. The first time will definitely be special."
Saibari arrives in Bavaria on the back of a superb season for club and country. The versatile attacker was named Eredivisie Player of the Year after scoring 19 goals and providing nine assists to help PSV Eindhoven win a third successive league title.
He carried that form into the World Cup, scoring in each of Morocco's three group-stage matches and converting the winning penalty in their Round-of-32 shootout victory over the Netherlands.
However, a thigh injury sustained in the last-16 win against co-hosts Canada ruled him out of the quarter-final defeat to France.
Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl revealed the club had been tracking Saibari long before his World Cup exploits.
"The key thing is that we positioned ourselves early with him, because we knew about Ismael's abilities and were able to show him a concrete perspective with us from the start," he said.
Saibari will not immediately link up with Vincent Kompany's squad for pre-season, with Bayern confirming the Moroccan is now taking a well-earned holiday before returning to Munich to begin preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.
The record champions begin the competitive season away to Borussia Dortmund in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup on 22 August, before kicking off the defence of their Bundesliga title at home to VfB Stuttgart a week later.
