Jamal Musiala provides update on Bayern Munich contract extension
Germany star Jamal Musiala has revealed talks over a contract extension at Bayern Munich are progressing well.
Musiala, who moved to Bayern from Chelsea as a 16-year-old in 2020, is currently under contract at the Allianz Arena until the end of the 2025/26 campaign, having signed his last extension in March 2021.
Negotiations have been under way to keep him at the club beyond the end of next term for a while, and the Germany international has now given an update on the current situation.
"The talks are going well," he said prior to Bayern's 3-0 UEFA Champions League defeat to Feyenoord on Wednesday. "Everyone knows how much I value the club and how happy I am here."
The news is an extra boost for Vincent Kompany's side following the attacking midfielder's return to fitness - flu kept him out of the 1-0 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach on Matchday 16, while he only managed short cameos in the following two matches before starting in Rotterdam.
"I feel fresh and have energy," the 21-year-old explained. With Bayern facing important European and domestic matches in the weeks to come, he has a crucial role to play in their hunt for silverware.
