Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala and Arsenal's Kai Havertz replaced by Liverpool's Florian Wirtz and Eintracht Frankfurt's Jonathan Burkardt in Germany squad after injuries
Bayern Munich playmaker Jamal Musiala and former Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz sustained injuries ahead of and during Germany's UEFA Nations League clash against the Netherlands, and their replacements have been announced ahead of a clash with Greece on Sunday.
Bayern attacking midfielder Musiala was replaced in the starting line-up by Mainz's Nadiem Amiri in the 1-1 draw in Amsterdam in Jürgen Klopp's first match as Germany coach after clutching his thigh in the warm-up.
An MRI scan subsequently confirmed a tear in his right thigh. Havertz was substituted off in the 30th minute for Eintracht Frankfurt's Younes Ebnoutalib after also suffering a muscular injury.
The DFB confirmed on Thursday that both Musiala and Havertz will leave the camp and miss Germany's second Nations League tie against Greece in Augsburg on Sunday (27 September, kick-off: 8:45pm CEST).
Ebnoutalib's club teammate Jonathan Burkardt will now join the squad earlier than was intended along with another former Bayer Leverkusen star, Florian Wirtz, who now plays for Liverpool.
Burkardt and Wirtz were part of a second Germany squad initially earmarked for action in Germany's final two Nations League clashes of the international break against Serbia in Munich on 1 October and Greece in Thessaloniki on 4 October.
