'Jürgen Klopp the perfect coach' - former Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus
With speculation mounting over Jürgen Klopp becoming Germany's next head coach, Marco Reus believes his former Borussia Dortmund boss is the perfect candidate for the job.
Reus spent three seasons playing under Klopp at Dortmund after returning to his boyhood club in 2012, before Klopp's departure in 2015.
Now with Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy, the former Germany international believes his ex-coach has the personality and leadership qualities required to guide the four-time world champions through a period of change after their early FIFA World Cup 2026 exit and Julian Nagelsmann's subsequent resignation.
"I think Klopp is the perfect coach, whether it's for a club or a national team," Reus told US media.
"He has the personality needed to lead any team, but when you talk about Germany, it's not just about the national team. I think if he takes the job, he'll change a lot of things."

The German Football Association (DFB) recently confirmed that they are in talks over Klopp succeeding Nagelsmann as head coach. The 59-year-old has been Red Bull's Head of Global Football since leaving Liverpool after a trophy-laden spell at Anfield, where he won the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
He previously guided Mainz to promotion to the Bundesliga before establishing himself among Germany's elite coaches by leading Dortmund to back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2010/11 and 2011/12.
