Marco Rose signs new contract with RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose has signed a new contract at his hometown club which will extend the coach's stay at the Red Bull Arena to at least 2026.
Rose joined the club in 2022 and his existing deal was due to expire at the end of the 2024/25 campaign but has now been extended by a further year.
The Leipzig-native led his team to DFB Cup glory in his first season and went on to claim the Supercup at the start of the following campaign.
Leipzig closed out 2023/24 in fourth-place in the Bundesliga, securing UEFA Champions League football for the upcoming season in the process, and Rose was rewarded for those efforts in being handed an extension to his current contract.
"I'm happy that we're continuing together," said Rose, whose 2.01 top-flight points average is the best of any coach in Leipzig's history. "I'm from here and feel at home in the city and the region. It's a lot of fun with my boys, with the staff, with all the employees in the club and of course with our fans."
He added: "Since I was able to start at RB Leipzig, we have defended the DFB Cup together and won the Supercup. The club is working in the background to put together a strong team again. We feel that there's more to it and we always want more. We are ambitious, we remain ambitious and we look forward together."
Leipzig tour New York ahead of the 2024/25 season, where their competitive campaign gets underway with a DFB Cup first round meeting with Rot-Weiss Essen in mid-August.
