"I want to thrill people" - Cologne's Mikey Moore
Mikey Moore is keen to leave an impression on the Cologne supporters after making an encouraging start to his loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur.
Moore made his Bundesliga debut from the bench in the defeat to VfB Stuttgart on Matchday 2, setting up Cologne's only goal after coming on. The 19-year-old forward then made his first start in the home draw with Werder Bremen a week later, giving him an early taste of playing in front of the Billy Goats faithful.
"I want to thrill people with my play and get them out of their seats," Moore told Cologne's official website. "I want the fans to say at the end of the season that I gave my all for the club and that they enjoyed watching me play."
From Spurs to Cologne
For Moore, the move to Germany represents another step in a career that began at Tottenham, where he joined the academy aged seven and progressed all the way to the first team. He made his senior debut for Spurs in May 2024 at just 16, becoming the youngest Premier League player in the club's history, before spending last season on loan at Rangers. He made 47 competitive appearances in Scotland, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.
After returning to London for pre-season, Moore was keen to secure another campaign of regular first-team football, with Cologne completing his season-long loan move without a buy option on deadline day.
"When I got the green light for the loan, I was really happy. I was eager to get started right away," he said, before revealing that conversations with head coach René Wagner ultimately convinced him to make the move. "He had a clear vision of how and where I should play. I really liked that he plans to use me in an offensive role and that I'm expected to help the team by scoring goals."

Even crazier fans
Having grown up watching the Bundesliga on television, Moore is now experiencing its famed stadiums first-hand, with his first home outing against Bremen giving him a glimpse of the atmosphere he had long watched from afar.
"The stadium is beautiful, and the fans were incredible. They're even crazier than in England," the teenager admitted. "I want to play in big games in packed stadiums and help the team do as well as possible."
One such occasion will come against Bayern Munich, with a reunion with Harry Kane adding an extra dimension. Moore remembers sharing a handful of training sessions with the former Tottenham goal machine during his early days at his parent club and is relishing the chance to face him in the Bundesliga.
"He was an incredible player for Tottenham. What he's doing now is really beyond words. When I was younger, I had a few training sessions with him. I'm really looking forward to playing against him," Moore said, with Cologne set to travel to the Allianz Arena on 20 November.
