"On behalf of the DFL, I would like to congratulate Jonas Wirth and SC Paderborn 07 on winning the title," said Jörg Höflich, Head of Virtual Bundesliga at DFL GmbH. "He played a remarkable VBL season, in which he first won the club title with his team and has now also secured the trophy as an individual player.

"At the end of a season, which has seen a huge development in the competition as a whole, I would like to thank all participating players, clubs and partners for their commitment!"

A total of 32 players took part in the Grand Final. They qualified via the VBL Club Championship and the VBL Open playoffs. The prize pool totalled 100,000 euros.
