RB Leipzig's sporting director Marcel Schäfer denies transfer agreement for Yan Diomande
RB Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer has issued a statement on transfer speculation involving Yan Diomande.
"A few days ago, one or two so-called transfer experts were saying the deal was done, or posting 'here we go' – but that's simply not the case," said Schäfer at Leipzig's training camp in Austria. "We're not there yet."

Leipzig are currently in the town of Saalfelden - albeit without Yan Diomande, who is absent due to illness.
"Yan's recovering well, I spoke to him yesterday," Schäfer continued. "As soon as he's recovered and feels ready, he'll travel to Austria and report for training. Yan is under contract with us – he's our player."

The 19-year-old is not just any player. He made 33 Bundesliga appearances in his debut campaign in Germany, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists en route to winning the Rookie of the Season award.
He also sparkled for Côte d'Ivoire at the World Cup over the summer, helping them reach the round of 32, where they lost to Norway.
