Robert Lewandowski on his best Bundesliga goals for Bayern Munich
Robert Lewandowski has now hit 250 Bundesliga goals in his incredible career for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
Lewandowski has netted 176 Bundesliga goals for Bayern so far, and with the 74 he struck for Borussia Dortmund, he has reached yet another significant career milestone by reaching 250 in his career.
In fact, only two men have ever done so before in the history of the German top flight: Bayern legend Gerd Müller and Schalke's prolific Klaus Fischer.
Fischer, who also played for 1860 Munich, Cologne and Bochum, struck 268 times in 535 Bundesliga appearances - one goal every 173 minutes. Lewandowski has hit 250 in 332 - a breath-taking ratio of a goal every 106 minutes, and only just bettered by Müller's 365 in 427, or one every 105 minutes.

Bayern 5-1 Wolfsburg, 22/09/2015
"I still can't really explain what happened in those nine minutes, but that was a day, a game, that will not only live long in the memory, but also in the history of football for a very long time.
"If we just talk about the most important goals, we can take all those five goals against Wolfsburg in nine minutes. Not just one goal, but five goals. You could say this was an important game — not only because I scored five goals in nine minutes, but also that we were playing against Wolfsburg. It was an important game for us, Wolfsburg were in top form at the time, and I think we were playing for top spot, or at least it was very close.
"I was on the bench. I'd gotten slightly injured in the Champions League, I wanted to play from the start, but Pep [Guardiola] decided that I should start on the bench. To be honest, I was a little bit annoyed, because I wanted to play from the first minute.
"But after 45 minutes, we were 1-0 down. I came on with Javi Martinez. When I scored the first goal, I thought to myself, 'OK, it's 1-1, but we still need one or two more goals.' Then I scored the second, but my thinking was, 'OK, 2-1 is still tight, we need a third.' Then I scored the third. From the first goal to the fifth, there were only nine minutes. I couldn't believe it.
"When I got home, my first thought was, 'Oh, I could have scored another, there was a chance to make it 6-1.' All the records I got from Guinness are hanging on the wall at home. I still have the boots from the game. Something like that always means more later than when it's just happened."
Freiburg 1-2 Bayern, 20/01/2017
"Games against Freiburg, and especially in Freiburg, are never easy. Last-minute goals or matchwinners are always important and something special. In this situation, everything went perfectly after chesting the ball down, everything just came together.
"When I was tussling with my opponent, I knew that getting a good header on the ball wasn't going to be easy, so I checked back. I saw my opponent was going to challenge me and that it wouldn't be easy for me to jump above him and try to head the ball.
"So I decided to hold on to the ball a bit longer. And the second touch — after chesting the ball down — was the most important in this situation
"I was very happy because it was the winning goal. It was an important game for us, for our confidence, to maintain our rhythm and to go from win to win. Sometimes these less important games can also be crucial because — when you've won a game like that — you get self-confidence, you get this winning rhythm, which is also very important for the future. And it was the first game of the new year."
Borussia Dortmund 1-3 Bayern 04/11/2017
"The goal in Dortmund was a great pass from Joshua [Kimmich]. It was with a little bit of contact from me and also the opponent touched the ball slightly, but it was a very nice goal.
"From the back, a little chip, it looks good visually. I'm not a player who likes to show off much, because I'm a player who wants to focus on the team and on my performance first. Of course, putting on a show is part of football, you can always accept that, and it's always very nice and fun for the fans.
"There's a difference between a show and drama. A little bit of a show works for me. I don't like drama."
Bayern 5-0 Borussia Dortmund 06/04/2019
"I was trying to put them under pressure. Then I won the ball, and after taking a quick look, I saw that [Roman] Bürki was coming out and if I chipped or played the ball over him with my first touch, I had a chance to shoot at an empty goal. This chip was important in this situation, because I didn't chip it too far.
"Everything was done at pace, with perfect timing. That was in the first half against Borussia Dortmund and games against them are always difficult, very important games."
Schalke 0-3 Bayern, 24/08/2019
"We won 3-0, and I scored all three goals. I had a really good feeling that we could score — that I could score — with that free-kick. The ball was in the perfect position for me. I did a good job, and the joy I felt after that goal was really immense.
"The rhythm, the run-up with free-kicks is very important, because from any position — if you know your run-up — you know where the ball can end up. The trajectory is also important, because sometimes the wall jumps really high, other times not much. And the distance. All of this combined plays a role, along with the technique, with the run-up and then, finally, the shooting technique.
"If you have the ball in the middle of the pitch, theoretically, you can shoot into both corners. And if the wall is on the left or the right, you have to decide which corner you want to go for. I decided this one would be the left corner from my point of view, the goalkeeper's right."
Werder Bremen 0-1 Bayern 16/06/20
"It was a very difficult season. We knew that if we won this game, we would be champions. After the lockdown, that period — not only from the sporting side but also personally — was a bit complicated and unpleasant for everyone at first. But we wanted to win this game so we could celebrate as champions.
"I got the ball from Jerome Boateng. He likes to chip the ball forward like that, and we'd been trying for a long time to score a goal like that or to create that situation.
"I saw that the defence was moving out a little too slowly and I saw there would be an opportunity for him to try a chip. Then I saw the ball in the air and thought: 'OK, I have to take it quickly and try to shoot.' In the end, everything worked out and we won 1-0.
"I was very focussed on bringing the ball down and couldn't see the whole of the goal. With a quick glance up, I saw a bit of the goalkeeper, but I didn't have time to see if either the left or right corner was open.
"I knew that the 'keeper was standing more towards the right and so the near corner would probably be covered, but that the far corner wasn't completely open either.
"I got a bit of luck with the shot — there was some contact with the pitch — and it was very difficult for the 'keeper because the pitch was very wet and the ball picked up pace towards the end. That meant that I made a good decision to shoot towards the far corner."
