Sadio Mane not in Bayern Munich squad to face Hoffenheim
Sadio Mane will not be in the Bayern Munich squad to face Hoffenheim on Bundesliga Matchday 28, the club have confirmed.
In an official statement, Bayern cited the 31-year-old's "misconduct" following their UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg defeat to Manchester City as the reason for his omission. He will also receive a fine.
Head coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed at his press conference on Friday that the matter is now closed with the fine and one-game suspension. It means Mane will be available for the second leg against Man City on Wednesday and all remaining fixtures.
"We have cleared up everything so that we can train positively with each other again," the 49-year-old added, while also stating that Mane has apologised and the atmosphere within the squad is good again.
The Senegal international has so far scored 11 goals in 32 competitive appearances for Bayern since his summer switch from Liverpool on a three-year deal.
