Thousands turned out to see Sadio Mane take to the field at Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena on Saturday, as part of the record champions' official team presentation.

Mane looked resplendent in the red of his new No.17 Bayern home shirt, having joined the club from Liverpool earlier this summer.

The 30-year-old forward - whose arrival was met by rapturous applause - later posed for official team photographs whilst partaking in interviews, training drills and a practice match.

Mane was joined by fellow new signings Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui as Bayern officially ushered in the new 2022/23 season, ahead of their US summer tour.

Beginning 18 July, Bayern will spend a week in the States, playing friendlies against DC United in Washington DC (20 July) and Manchester City in Green Bay, Wisconsin (23 July), before returning to Germany on 24 July.

Fan experiences, including player meet-and-greets, are also on the agenda for the reigning 10-in-a-row Bundesliga champions.

Once back in Gemany, Mane & Co. will contest the first trophy of the season in the Supercup against DFB Cup winners RB Leipzig (30 August). They begin their Bundesliga title defence a week later, with a trip to UEFA Europa League holders Eintracht Frankfurt (5 August).

Mane will be only the second Senegalese national to play competitively for Bayern after new teammate Bouna Sarr. He is bidding to become the Bundesliga's third African top scorer after former Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (31 goals, 2016/17), and Frankfurt cult hero Tony Yeboah (20 goals, 1992/93 & 18 goals, 1993/94).

The 2021 AFCON Africa Cup of Nations winner and Player of the Tournament is under contract at Bayern through to summer 2025.
