Schalke's Soufiane El-Faouzi receives Bundesliga 2 Goal of the Season trophy
Schalke midfielder Soufiane El-Faouzi has received the 2025/26 Bundesliga 2 Goal of the Season trophy after winning the award for his sensational strike against Elversberg in April.
El-Faouzi’s acrobatic Matchday 29 effort beat off competition from 14 other nominees in the Goal of the Season fan vote on the official Bundesliga app.
The Moroccan’s bicycle kick from Timo Becker’s pass cancelled out promotion rivals Elversberg’s early opener before Moussa Sylla struck in the second half to earn the Royal Blues a crucial 2-1 win.

Schalke, who went on to win the Bundesliga 2 title last season, face Hallescher FC in the DFB Cup first round on Monday 24 August in their first competitive game of the new season.
Miron Muslić’s side open their Bundesliga campaign with a trip to Augsburg six days later, on Sunday 30 August.
