Elversberg host Bundesliga 2 leaders Paderborn, Cologne welcome Hannover and coach-less Hamburg visit Karlsruhe after away wins for promotion candidates Kaiserslautern and Hertha Berlin...

Matchday 14 results

Schalke 0-3 Kaiserslautern
Goals: 0-1 Ache 12', 0-2 Hanslik 52', 0-3 Yokota 61'

Kaiserslautern underlined their promotion credentials with a convincing win at struggling Schalke. Ragnar Ache scored inside the opening 12 minutes to put the Red Devils - unbeaten in their previous five matches - on course for victory. The former Eintracht Frankfurt striker missed a great chance to double his tally late in the first half, but Schalke never looked like making him pay. Second-half goals from Daniel Hanslik and Daisuke Yokota sealed the deal to send Kaiserslautern into provisional second whilst leaving the Royal Blues - who had a 72nd-minute penalty decision overturned by VAR - looking nervously over their shoulder at the relegation zone.

Magdeburg 1-3 Hertha Berlin
Goals: 1-0
El Hankouri 48' 1-1 Scherhant 55', 1-2 Niederlecher 65', 1-3 Schuler 86'

Hertha Berlin gave their promotion prospects a boost with a clinical showing away to Magdeburg, who had started the weekend's round of fixtures three points better off than their capital counterparts. Mo El Hankouri broke the deadlock for the hosts early in the second half, but Hertha turned the game on its head in a blistering 10-minute spell courtesy of goals by Derry Scherhant and Florian Niederlechner. Luca Schuler made the points safe late on as the Old Lady moved above Magdeburg on goal difference, and to within two points of the promotion play-off spot.
