Serhou Guirassy steps up injury comeback by joining Dortmund training
The former Stuttgart striker was in the frustrating situation of being sidelined by a knee injury after joining Borussia Dortmund this summer. Having now trained with his new team-mates for the first time, his long-awaited debut should follow in the coming weeks.
Guirassy joined his Borussia Dortmund team-mates at a public training session on Tuesday as Nuri Şahin's side prepare for their first away match of the season at Werder Bremen this Saturday.
The striker wore a vest while completing parts of the session under summery temperatures in front of over 550 fans.
Guirassy is not expected to return to full fitness in time to feature in Bremen, but is set to play again at some stage in September.
His new side got their Bundesliga season off to a winning start with a 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on last weekend's opening matchday. As eager as Guriassy will be to feature for his new side and help them in their ambitions for the season, he may also have one eye on the race to be crowned top goalscorer this season after hitting a sensational 28 goals for Stuttgart in 2023/24.
