Berlin ready to welcome the world for TAG Heuer Virtual Bundesliga Grand Final

The TAG Heuer Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) Grand Final, hosted by the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga and EA Sports, will take place at the Westhafen Event and Convention Center in Berlin between 11-12 May.

This end of season showcase event will welcome the best players from across the country as they bid to win the German eFootball championship.

eFootball stars from further afield will give this event a truly global feel as two of the top players from Asia battle it out in the VBL International Final taking place on Sunday 12 May.

Having won the first VBL International Series Qualifier tournament in Malaysia, ‘Wisuwat’ is eager to test himself against India’s best in the Final. Following events held in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata, ‘Saranshjain7’ will be his opponent, with the winner being crowned VBL International Champion 2018-19.

Both players will enjoy a five day stay in which they will get to experience ‘Football As It’s Meant To Be’ live as they attend the RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich game, visit Berlin’s Olympic Park and stadium, followed by a tour of Berlins largest football club - Hertha Berlin. In addition, they will also get to experience some of Germany’s renowned culture and all of the highlights Berlin has to offer.

The VBL Grand Final, as the official German Championship in eFootball, will see 24 of the country´s best FIFA 19 players compete to be crowned German eFootball Champion 2018-19.

12 players qualified through the VBL Playoffs. A further two players from each from the teams that secured the first six places in the VBL Club Championship, the competition open to clubs from the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 that ran between January and March, will also take part.

Both days of the VBL Grand Final will be open to spectators. For those who cannot be there, a livestream will be available on virtual.bundesliga.com, with the semi-finals and final matches also on the global Bundesliga Facebook channel and on selected digital channels of international Bundesliga broadcasting partners from 17:30 CEST on 12 May. The live stream will be hosted with English commentary by Brandon Smith and Richard Buckley. In addition, fans in Germany will be able to watch the semi-finals and finals on Free TV on Pro7 MAXX.

It will really help connect with younger generations, not only in Germany but across the planet as we host many of the world’s best gamers in this unique competition.
