Bischof has signed an initial four-year deal to keep him in Munich until June 2029 once he arrives after the conclusion of the 2024/25 season. The 19-year-old, who has been at Hoffenheim since the age of six, has enjoyed a breakout campaign this year, starting 15 of TSG's first 18 league assignments, contributing two goals and two assists.

"Tom is one of Germany's best young players and has already attracted interest from abroad. He's already gained a lot of experience at professional level at the age of 19, in the Bundesliga, DFB Cup and Europa League," said Bayern's sporting director Christoph Freund of the inbound midfielder.

"Tom is the ideal fit to our approach as a midfielder confident on the ball. We're delighted he's decided to take the next step at Bayern. Tom has all it takes to establish himself at the highest level," the Austrian continued.

Meanwhile, Hoffenheim sporting director Andreas Schicker made it clear how highly the club values their home-grown star.

"We tried everything to convince him to stay at Hoffenheim in his final year of contract. However, Tom's rapid sporting development has not gone unnoticed by other, very prominent top clubs," he said. "We have to accept this decision and wish Tom all the best in Munich as of next season. We are sure that he will give his all for TSG until then so that we can still achieve our common goals this season."

For his part, the teenager was keen to underline his commitment to ensuring that he and his boyhood club end their adventure on a positive note.

"It's not yet time to say a big goodbye, as I'm still a Hoffenheim player. But one thing is already certain: leaving the Kraichgau region will be incredibly difficult for me emotionally, and I will never forget TSG Hoffenheim," he declared. "When the time comes, I will also comment in more detail on my decision, but now my full focus is only on Hoffenheim. And right through to the summer, I will definitely give everything to help the club avoid relegation at the end of this season."

Bischof made his Bundesliga debut for Hoffenheim at the age of 16 on 19 March 2022, coming off the bench for the closing stages of a 3-0 defeat against Hertha Berlin to become the club's youngest debutant in the top flight.

The central midfielder, who can also operate in a more attacking role and out wide, made a further 25 top-flight appearances across the next two campaigns, primarily as a substitute, before establishing himself in the first team in 2024/25.

He has so far represented Germany from U16 through to U20 level and last year won the prestigious gold U19 Fritz Walter Medal as the country's best player in that age group.
