The top 5 January movers and shakers to consider in Fantasy
The January transfer window remains wide open, but there are already a number of winter movers and shakers you should draft into your Fantasy teams…
Bundesliga teams are often cautious in the winter transfer window - at least by English standards - preferring to do their main business in the summer.
Bayern Munich have signed Tom Bischof from Hoffenheim - himself a Fantasy steal at 5m - but the Germany U20 star won't move to the Allianz Arena until July.
But there have been moves that Fantasy players can take full advantage of now. bundesliga.com looks at five of the best of them…
Gift Orban
Club: Hoffenheim
Position: FW
Price: 10m
With Omar Marmoush set to complete his move to Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt, Fantasy players will have a 10m hole burning through their pockets and could do worse than spend it on Gift Orban, the striker who Hoffenheim have acquired from Lyon.
The Nigerian was prolific at Stabæk in Norway and Gent in Belgium (51 goals across two seasons), before finding himself stuck behind Alexandre Lacazette at Lyon, and could prove a gift at that price if he gets going again under Christian Ilzer.
Issa Kaboré
Club: Werder Bremen
Position: DF
Price: 7m
Attacking defenders remain Fantasy gold despite the new scoring system, and Werder Bremen have picked up one with the right instincts in Issa Kaboré, who has joined on loan from Manchester City.
He may have Mitchell Weiser in his way at first, but Kaboré can play on both flanks and might marshal his preferred right-hand side when Weiser is used in the final third. Benfica may not have worked out for Kaboré in the first half of the season, but Marseille and Luton are happy recent recipients of his services, and at 7m, he could be worth a punt.
Budu Zivzivadze
Club: Heidenheim
Position: FW
Price: 8m
Watch: The best of Zivzivadze
Budu Zivzivadze recently joined Heidenheim from Karlsruher, whom he steered into promotion contention as Bundesliga 2's 12-goal top scorer at the midway point of the season.
A full Georgia international, Zivzivadze has slotted in as the first-choice striker at the Voith-Arena and, after finding his range, a first Bundesliga goal is surely just around the corner. At 8m, he is also one of the most budget-friendly starters in his position.
Frans Krätzig
Club: Heidenheim
Position: DF
Price: 7m
Watch: Krätzig's goalscoring debut against Union Berlin
Recommending two players from one club - a relegation-threatened one at that - might seem like folly, but Frans Krätzig has everything going for him as a Fantasy pick: An attacking midfielder listed as a defender, budget-friendly at 7m, and already with a goal on his Heidenheim debut.
The Bayern Munich-owned youngster was on loan at VfB Stuttgart in the Hinrunde, where Maximilian Mittelstädt rather got in his way, but now he has the platform to fulfil some potential, and Fantasy players stand to benefit.
John Tolkin
Club: Holstein Kiel
Position: DF
Price: 6m
Last, but by no means least, is USMNT player John Tolkin, who has joined Holstein Kiel from New York Red Bulls, where he was the most attacking of left-backs.
Tolkin had 13 direct goal involvements in the Red Bulls' run to the MLS Cup Playoffs in 2023, and added another six last season before hopping across the pond. Witha price of just 6m, "JMi", as he is known, should be one to watch.
