As there were against Augsburg at the weekend, a capacity 70,000 crowd are packed inside the Allianz Arena.

GORETZKA CONFIDENT

"We'll certainly have to be better on Tuesday and we will do that," affirmed Leon Goretzka. "The place will be rocking. Then we'll deliver a performance that is Bayern-like."

LEWANGOALSKI

With 85 goals in 105 appearances, Lewandowski boasts the best scoring ratio of the Champions League era (0.81 goals per game), ahead of Lionel Messi (0.8) and Cristiano Ronaldo (0.77). He scored a hat-trick in the home leg of Bayern's 8-2 aggregate win over Salzburg in the previous round, and has struck at least once in six of nine appearances in this season's competition.

FORTRESS ALLIANZ

In the past three seasons, Bayern have only lost one Champions League home game, averaging over three goals per match. They haven't failed to score a Champions League goal in front of their own supporters in exactly four years, and former striker Mario Gomez thinks home advantage will be key. "We're in Bayern's stadium tonight. It's one step from the semi-finals and I think we're set for a big Bayern performance," he told Amazon Prime.

NEUER: 'BAYERN NOT TO BE MESSED WITH'

Manuel Neuer believes Bayern can deliver the knock-out blow. "We have to show determination, be ambitious, and you can always count on us to do that," said the Bayern captain, a Champions League winner in 2013 and 2020. "We lost the first leg, it hurt us, but we only lost 1-0. We weren't happy with the performance, but it's the best kind of defeat you can get. We have won a lot of games in the Champions League and we know we have to win. We've done that in the past, and we're not to be messed with after we've lost a game like we did over there."

PERMUTATIONS

Villarreal will be out if Bayern win by two or more clear goals - something they have comfortably managed to do in every home fixture in this season's competition (5-0, 5-2, 3-0 & 7-1) - while a Bayern victory by one will send the tie to extra-time, and possibly penalties. The winner of the quarter-final between Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool and Benfica - who finished second in Bayern's group - await in the last four.

NAGELSMANN DEMANDS IMPROVEMENT

Bayern head coach Julian Nagelsmann bemoaned his team's 'tame' first-half and 'wild' second-half showings last time out, but expects them to rise to the challenge at the Allianz Arena. "We want to deliver and we have to raise our intensity on and off the ball," he explained. "We have to increase the tempo of the game with quick and aggressive moves. It's a game that players love. There's a lot at stake and you have to invest a lot as well. It's well known that diamonds are created from pressure. Perhaps we'll produce a brilliant game."
