Vote for the Bundesliga's Player of the Month for October 2026
The Bundesliga is once again presenting the official Player of the Month award for the 2026/27 season. The vote has been conducted in cooperation with official licensing partner EA SPORTS since 2018/19. Your contenders for October 2026 are Michael Olise, Niclas Füllkrug, Dayot Upamecano, Anthony Caci, Antonio Nusa and Ibrahim Maza.

The award consists of a two-stage process in which the performance data of the players and then the choice of the fans and experts are taken into account.
The determining factor for a matchday is the month in which its Saturday falls. October's vote covers Matchdays 5 to 9.
October nominees
Olise was once again integral to Bayern’s attacking play throughout October. The France international started all four Bundesliga games across the month, amassing two goals and two assists, with his total of four goal contributions only surpassed by Harry Kane for Bayern. Meanwhile, the only league minutes he missed were towards the end of Der Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund, when he was forced off with an injury.
Olise was not only a goal threat himself, firing off the third-highest number of shots across the Bundesliga over the month (18), but also consistently helped bring his teammates into play by creating a league-high 19 chances. He therefore directly contributed to 37 shots in October, another Bundesliga lead. Additionally, he illustrated his fantastic dribbling ability, attempting the most take-ons in the division with 25.
Niclas Füllkrug (Werder Bremen)
Füllkrug finding the back of the net was inevitable in October as he finished up as the only player to score in all four matchdays. His six goals in the month took his tally for the campaign to nine goals, more than any Werder Bremen player in Bundesliga history after eight rounds of fixtures.
In total, he has struck in seven consecutive league matches, something no Werder man has achieved since Rudi Völler in 1982/83. He wasn’t just prolific, but also efficient; his goals came from just 17 shots, meaning he only needed fewer than three per finish on average. He was far and away his team’s greatest threat in October, with no other member of the Bremen squad firing off more than six attempts.
Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich)
Upamecano’s consistency and unexpected knack for goals made him one of Bayern’s most important players in October. He was the only man from the Bavarians to play every Bundesliga minute and also scored in consecutive games against Freiburg and Dortmund – the first time he has done so in his league career in Germany.
Unsurprisingly, his three goals after eight games are a personal best and means he has more goals in the German top flight than every other centre-back this term. Also, he racked up an xG value of 2.2 and won around 60 percent of his duels in October – both team leads.
Few would have expected Caci to be his side’s top goalscorer in October, yet the Frenchmen was their greatest offensive outlet. He started all four games and scored three of the 05ers’ seven goals, a haul only bettered by Füllkrug and Ermedin Demirović in the whole Bundesliga. On top of that, he provided two assists.
Against Bayer Leverkusen on Matchday 5, he netted his first brace in the division in his 110th appearance, also putting an end to a 28-game goal drought. Remarkably, this is already his most lucrative season in front of goal with three strikes, and he needed only four shots in October to net them, making his shot efficiency of +1.6 over that period the fourth-best in the league.
Nusa was one of the Bundesliga’s stand-out forwards in October. The Norway ace was the only player amongst his teammates to start all four games and made his mark by scoring twice and providing four assists, putting him joint-top of the league’s goal contribution charts for the month alongside Kane and Füllkrug.
That means Nusa already has 10 goals and assists combined over the first eight games of the term, making him the only Bundesliga player to reach double figures. He also further proved himself to be an adept dribbler, completing 71 percent of his 17 attempted take-ons.
Ibrahim Maza (Bayer Leverkusen)
Over the course of the month, Maza established himself as the creative hub of Leverkusen’s attack. He has now started all of Die Werkself’s eight Bundesliga games in 2026/27 and managed two goals and one assist in October – a haul bettered only by Patrik Schick in Carles Martínez’s squad.
Three goals across the opening eight Bundesliga matchdays are already as many as he managed throughout the entirety of last season, his first full campaign in the top flight. Maza’s technical ability in tight areas is an obvious speciality of his, but he does not shy away from the dirty work, contesting a league-high 114 duels in October and winning 58 percent. On top of that, he managed six shots and laid on six others.
